  1. Bruce, That is a neat trick! :hurray: Many thanks for sharing this info...I'm sure it will come in handy the next time I have a hose to make up.
  2. I would expect the top end speed to be higher with brooklands or an aeroscreen than with a full windscreen. However, I've not had a chance to test this theory. I would guess a couple of MPH at the very least. For Autocross, I don't expect it would make a difference, as the drag from the airflow really only becomes an issue at high speed. It is *much* easier to see where your wheels are without the full screen.
  3. Bruce, That is a nice installation. Can you elaborate on the method you came up with for cutting the hose and assembling the fittings? I've had to make a few and it can be quite tricky!
  4. You just need more power then!
  5. Boxologist, thanks for the tip...mirror for sevens mirror ordered.
  6. Guys, can we come to some closure on the mirror? I've got to do something about a rear view mirror before we start the PNW2005 tour!
  7. Need a visual? brooklands + spa mirror ____________ = here Edited to add: Note, the car in the link above has the tall SPA stalk. The mirror is pretty wide and may not fit between the brooklands if it is shorter?
  8. That is a cool map. You should ask the folks on the usa se7ens.net list to add to it.
  9. Al, I have used chatterboxes and they are good for a track day, where you can stuff the headset under your helmet. However, they are of cheap quality and don't offer the noise protection of a "real" intercom, like the aircraft one posted above. In my seven I have a Starcom intercom. I know a lot of the UK folks use the Autocom brand, but choose the Starcom because it had more features. For headsets, I have used both the aircraft "clamp over the head" type and "in ear" version ( example ). I find that the in-ear version is much more comfortable to use for a long drive, although it takes longer to put on. The "clamp on" headsets tend to squeeze your head - which can give you a headache - but they do keep your ears warm! I am thinking seriously about getting in on the bulk buy mentioned earlier. It sounds like the best of both worlds, but unfortunately is not cheap!
  10. Thanks Al. NP. Just let me know.
  11. Al, Very interested in the rear view mirror. Will take it if the others don't want it. Tom
  12. Howdy. I'm acutally in the middle of fitting the passenger floor at the moment. http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/images/emoticons/biggrin5.gif The cross brace has an L bracket that attaches to it and then goes down to the floor. Another thing to note, is that the way the new floor is rivited to the chassis is slightly different. The original floor was simply riveted to the bottom of the chassis. The new floor is riveted to the bottom of the inside chassis rail and to the *interior* of the outside chassis rail. The rear section is also riveted to the interior of the rail. All of this makes for a lot of rivets you have to drill out and replace. FWIW, I used sprayed some Waxoyl into the chassis tubes to both rustproof them and to prevent all those rivet heads from rattling around in there!! http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/images/emoticons/eek6.gifhttp://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/images/emoticons/biggrin5.gif
  13. I've done it. It was not too hard, but is time consuming. Pics here: >lowered floor
  14. We have a couple of folks signed up for the HPDE event at Laguna Seca on Sunday January 7th. I've never driven on this track, but it has a great reputation and I'm excited to be going there to try it out. I'd love to have some more of our local se7ens commuity show up for this. I suspect it may be a bit chilly, but we have had quite a bit of good weather lately so maybe we will get lucky! If not and it is cold, no big deal...if it is wet, well that makes for a good chance to work on driving smoothly...or perhaps just having some fun hooning around! http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/images/emoticons/eek6.gifhttp://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/images/emoticons/biggrin5.gifhttp://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/images/emoticons/thumbsup.gif Ideally we would get a group of us and could coordinate a group dinner/barbeque or something. Here is the sign up page: >SIGNUP SO, Who is up for it?!? Let us know what you are thinking! ...
  15. FWIW, I just saw a used one, in the UK, go for about $120 bucks on ebay: 110051508335
