  1. Here is a direct link: http://www.corvaircorsa.com/V-12-01.html Ron, That is AMAZING! Truly one of the most impressive sleeper cars I've ever seen.
  2. Bruce, Thanks for the details. It is a great result! Tom
  3. Hank, That is a high jump in a seven! Is that the Fluke rally car? There is a nice jump in this video: I've gotten my car off the ground, but don't have any pics to prove it. Attached a pic from the Minister Power site:
  4. Sounds too good to be true. I'm not sure I believe that they can get 260+ hp out of an internally UNMODIFIED Duratec. AFAIK, the Cosworth motors have extensive head work, pocketed pistons, etc. Maybe it's possible with a turbo hanging off it...
  5. * Know that buying a used car is always cheaper than buying a new car/kit - unless you get a ragged out lemon that needs a total rebuild. * Know that there are an amazing amount of options/accessories - some that the dealer will not tell you about or possibly even know about. Note that many of these options will not come from the factory. * You need to decide what you want to use the car for - a purely race se7en may not be a great touring vehicle (however tastes vary!). * Each state has different registration requirements. It is easiest if you have someone local who has already gone through the registration process with a se7en. * Sit in/drive as many as you can. Each se7en is unique. 7. Very Creative! I love it!
  8. Gert, Did you change your alignment for bias tires? I think they are very sensitive to camber....
  9. Tom, Well done Sir! The car looks great and your attention to detail is quite obvious. I'm happy to have had a hand in getting you started down this path and am looking forward to touring together someday! Cheers, Tom "Pierats" Jones
  10. My understanding is that the Canadian Hayabusa seven is a SV. The car in this picture looks like a std body. I'm also guessing a Zetec of some kind since the exhaust is on the drivers side. No matter what the specs, they were obviously very well organized to get this result. Well done!
  11. I just step over. The car is so low it's not a problem. If I had full cage then it would be much more difficult!
  12. Looking at the pics, the chassis number is SB1910. Using this site: http://7faq.com/owbase/ow.asp?ChassisNumbers it translates into a Lotus Series 2 built at Cheshunt.
  13. simple, search for craigslist.org in google and you'll see a search box for all of craigslist. you can also use the advanced search function in google to search a specific site: lotus seven site:craigslist.org
  14. Yep. Per tire. I understand the tramlining on ACB10's is not so bad. However, they really don't do well with standing water - which is understandable given their tread pattern.
  15. What is the difference between the ACB9 and the ACB10?
  16. I can vouch for the roads around Silver City. They are quite fun, very little traffic and very scenic. The only issue is that gas can be a problem...especially if you are running a car with a limited range. I ended up coasting down the pass on 152 into Hillsboro - where we found a single station (YAY).
  17. Sorry Mopho, I was not clear. The 7500 mile clause does not apply to SB100 cars. However does apply to any other cars being brought in from out of state.
  18. Detailed instructions for registration: http://www.californiacaterhamclub.com/wiki7/pmwiki.php?n=Building.SPCNS100 It is easiest to get a car that is already registered (preferably under SB100 because you don't have to worry about emissions - ever). Purchasing an older car (pre-smog), or an original Lotus would also be a valid way to register/import a car in California. Note that the car MUST have at least 7500 miles on the odometer to be imported into CA. One of the users on this forum had to wait a full year to get their SB100 number because they did not get a number the prior January. I don't want to scare you away from a car, but it is a risk. He eventually got a number and is now driving.
  19. Robert, Welcome. You have certainly been bitten by the same bug as the rest of us! I would not shy away from an R500 or better if I had the $$$. As someone wise said "You can never have enough power...just not enough traction". Oh and be forewarned, you will be bitten by another bug as soon as you take delivery. It's called upgradeitus. Post a message on the california caterham club http://www.californiacaterhamclub.com site too. There are a number of 7 owners in your area who would be happy to share their experiences and perhaps give you a ride. Cheers, Tom
  20. OMG, if someone bought it for that price they got a steal of a deal.
  21. Sounds like a good excuse for a tour.
  22. John, I was able to drive a car with a full cage and it felt much more solid than without. It really stiffened up the chassis when they put the full cage on.
  23. It's REAL simple. Buy this mirror and you will be safer than you were without it. I don't understand why people feel like they have to search for something better. I have one on my car* and it has saved my bacon a few times - it is cheap insurance. The mirror(s) is much better than any other mirror I have tried - great visibility and it does not block your view ( a huge plus in my book). I do use it with a set of spa side mirrors. I do use it at night - which is not much of a problem as you can easily lean away from the glare if you need to. All in all one of the best upgrades I've made to the car. Tom *when I have the windscreen on - Bob, when will you make a version for brooklands?
  24. John, You might want to post the dimensions of the shocks. Caterham used different length shocks for their different models and years. Best of luck with the sale, they sure are pretty. Cheers, Tom
