  1. TNTIM, What do the F1 cars use?
  2. DB6, Fit some brooklands and forget about the hood!
  3. If you don't want to mail order that stuff, you can also visit your local skateboard shop and buy a length of grip tape. Cut to fit and "bobs your uncle".
  4. Keith and Janel, Awesome job! :hurray: :hurray: :hurray:
  5. We are currently in Weaverville, headed for Fort Bragg this evening. We've had a couple of minor breakdowns - Chad, myself and Gert. Chad took a nice sized rock the first day - dented a frame member but missed the sump. Yesterday was HOT - 107 in Redding - All of us were suffering - except for Stan who has a "cool shirt" system (that was smart!). Anyway you can see my pics from days 1 and 2 here: NorCal 2008
  6. Just saw this post: stickers which might do the trick.
  7. Re: wheels. I think you will find that a 13x6 wheel is plenty for your car - especially on the street. I would not bother changing them. NOTE: there are huge amounts of personal preference regarding tires, but I think that the Toyos are a nice tire. Personally, I like to run a competition tire - like the R888's, but it really comes down to the type of driving you do.
  8. Look man, the *only* mirror to get if you have a windscreen on your se7en is this one: mirrors for sevens NOTE: I'm not affiliated with this guy, just a happy customer. This mirror prevented an accident within the first 100 miles after I fitted it. Get one for your car, you will not be disappointed. PS: I have spa mirrors mounted to my windscreen stanchions too. They suck. They are too small and too far away from your face to see anything of value.
  9. I would not really want to own one, but I would really like to drive one!
  10. It's probably pretty hard to get more extreme that this: How about 1000 hp/ton: here
  11. Certainty: 90%+ Legs attending: 1-3 Hotels booked: Chico - Hotel Diamond 9/2 Chester - Best Western Rose Quartz Inn 9/3 Weaverville - 49er Old Country Inn 9/4 Ft. Bragg - Quality Inn & Suites 9/5 Looking forward to a great tour! :7drive:
  12. Stan, Having you drive the Lexus was nice, but I hope you are in a se7en this time!
  13. Guys, how do we know what our membership status is? Tom
  14. Anything from a long weekend to a 5 day tour would be good with me. I could probably stretch it to 7 days, but don't want to do any more than that.
  15. How about linking up some of these rides: ridemap
  16. Mondo, Sorry, you can register a bike engined car in California. I know because I've seen one. He went through the standard SB100 route. I agree that purchasing a car that has already been registered is a much easier route. Aznatma, Be patient, cars come up for sale somewhat frequently. I know of a nice Birkin for sale in northern CA: http://www.flickr.com/photos/billalow/sets/72157604389150572 I can PM you the details if you are interested. Tom
  17. here What engine is that!? PS: Nice horns! hehehe
  18. Oooh. That is a good one! There are lots of great se7en photos out there, but I like this one from the Minister Power website: http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/276763286_24_hr_car2.jpg
  19. if you are mostly racing, how about a bag seat: here
  20. Great videos! Thanks for sharing! I love to see those tracks being tested by a bunch of sevens!
  21. Drew: How do I fit a battery master switch
  22. I built mine from a kit - I would do it again in a heartbeat. Awesome experience. Even though I could have purchased a used one for less. There are quite a few things I would have done differently when I purchased my kit though. Caterham (the other brands too I'm sure) have so many options it is hard to know what to buy. For instance there were a lot of things available that were not on the price list. Here are a few that I would have changed in my original order: - powdercoat the engine compartment - long 1st gear or a 6 speed with a different diff ratio - wide track front wishbones - lowered floors - ACB10 tires - carbon fiber dash - adjustable platforms for the dampers - nicer dampers than the stock units - no spare tire rack - aero fuel filler - rear arb - freestyle inboard suspension - half doors - tall fia bar or cage Some of these things are easy to change afterwards, others are more difficult or expensive!
  23. Hi John, I understand. The cooling system, although it works fine, seems to have room for improvement. I got my expansion tank from MSI motorsports a couple of years ago. It is fine, but they are making some more attractive units now - check with Woody. They are just the right size for a se7en. If I convert my system at some point in the future, I'll get a new tank from them. Regarding the SBD water rail, I was asking myself the same thing: "where does the coil pack go?". I suspect you are right and they use the coil on plug setup. Either that, or you have to fashion some kind of bracket for the coil pack.
  24. One more thing, there is a new water rail available: SBD Duratec water rail I like it!
