  1. This was my first time getting pictures loaded. Sorry, I didn't get everyone leaving the parking lot on the Saturday morning drive. The first picture is the tree of shame. The bike shown had gone down the left side was all scratched up; the rider appeared to be OK, just dirty. The last picture shows that my wife attracts bugs.
  2. Great time! We enjoyed making new friends and getting re-aquained with old friends (That is me saying "I don't think I have met you." several times to the same persson).
  3. canopy, chairs, extension cord, cooler, laptop, videos, minor tools, jack, fire extinguisher, gas and unfortunately a non-running 7. javascript:insertsmiley(':nonod: ','/aspnetForum/images/emoticons/nonod.gif')
  4. I am looking for a Ford 1172 side valve (Flat heads rule!) and gear box for my 7. Yes; I intend to replace the BMC-A with something heavier, having less power and poorly selected gear ratios.
  5. “Other” means that I can’t remember what it is usually called. I recall that sometimes there were two categories. One category was for cars that were in the spirit of a particular Lotus model (e.g., 7’s, 23’s to cover homebuilt cars as well as those from the likes of Birkin and Westfield and etc.). Another category was for whatever else anyone brought with a lotus theme (I recall a peddle car taking home the top trophy another year the Lotus Starship tour buss won). Things have varied over the years. It depends a great deal on what both the national club and the local club want and what is expected to show up. This year I think there will be more than the usual number of race cars and 7’s at the Colorado LOG this year. This will be due to more people towing their cars than usual. If you are going pull a trailer you might as well fill up the interesting cars. Email me privately if you like.
  6. This may be a bit of hearsay; however is there a possibility of hooking up with Lotus Ltd’s Lotus Owners Gathering (LOG 28)? A combined meet or associated meet could work. Certainly the driving events could take all comers: auto-X, tours and track day. Traditionally the Lotus Ltd concourse has classes for Lotus 7’s, Caterham 7’s, and others. Dinner and picnicking is dinner and picnicking.
  7. If our 7 is on 4 wheels we will bring it! In that case I will need help pushing!
  8. Oh the pressure. Engine is out. Transmission is out. Hope we can make the meet with a working car.
  9. Have the parade sometime before any alcohol would normally be consumed and during a light traffic part of the day. This could be a Sunday thing. Perhaps a parade to the auto-X site would work.
  10. Please update the registration list noteing those who have paid up. This will give a better understanding of who will be there.
  11. I am interested. We will be towing and meeting at I-64/I-81 would be good for us. Dean
  12. Anyone going to the the Evolution http://autocross.com/evolution/modules/news/ school June 24,25 2007 Virgina Beach, VA? I may attend although I don't know what I would drive.
  13. I took a quick look at the Evolution site http://autocross.com/evolution/modules/news/ and they are having a Just In Time school for our purposes: June 24,25 2007 Virgina Beach, VA, Phase 1- Phase 2 Greg Smith 757-463-2793 mr.beachcomber@juno.com I have worked the Phase 1 & 2 schools and taken the Phase 1 school. The school was fun and I learned some things. It's nice to be able to ask specific questions of someone who wants to help and is knowledgeable. Lots of track time (as auto-x goes). If you have an extremely low car check with Greg (He is the SCCA contact for the school who is both knowledgeable and a good guy. Even though he drives corvettes he appreciates 7’s) about the condition of the facility. A few years ago an extremely low set 7 went off course took out its oil pan at the Evolution school held in Pungo. Sign up early. These events get sold out. I was late signing up once and was shut out. Send me a private email if you like.
  14. Auto-X schools. I don't think there is much going on in Richmond however the Southside (Virginia Beach and South to the NC border) have a few schools each year. The SCCA traditionally has one informal auto-X school and a 1-2 day Evolution school every spring. These are held at the old airfield in beautiful downtown Pungo. About 2-3 hours from Richmond.
  15. A bit late on the post, I thought I had answered but it appears that I didn't. Dean in Newport News Lotus 7S1 Calvin are you the auto-X guy who used to own the real Cobra and had an X-wife that worked at the shipyard?
  16. Finally made our reservation at the Fontana Village Resort. Dean
  17. Steve in Williamsburg I just wanted to say hello from http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/images/emoticons/blush5.gifffice:smarttags" />Newport News.
  18. A modest proposal - It might be a good idea to hold an informal information sharing and planning session for the 7/7/7 event at LOG. There will certainly be a bunch of 7ish cars in attendance (at least it always seems there too many nice cars to pick from when voting at the concours) and even more 7 enthusiasts/owners.
  19. I am located in Newport News, VA. The 7 is not quite photogenic yet, although nose is getting shiny as I find I polish it when I want to work on the car and can’t think of anything more productive to do. At the moment the 7 needs a bunch of work before it will be safe to drive. I did get my Lotus fix by taking a spin in our M100.
  20. Al; Please stop with the ugly comments about other groups. The world of Lotus is too small without further Balkanization of the community. The board of Lotus Ltd has already had a brief discussion about the 7/7/7 event. We as a club are trying to find ways support more and better events. I personally believe that local Lotus Ltd affiliated clubs should try to do more and the national organization should try and help them. As an aside, one Lotus Ltd. board member is already planning to attend the event and another (that would be me) would like to attend provided I have a running Seven and can afford the time and treasure necessary.
