1. Took my Nephew for a fun run at an Autocross Saturday. His comments at the end are typcal of a first time 7 rider:driving: I need to work on my hand placement. This picture says it all from a first time rider with my wife. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v640/snookwheel/Whoohoo203.jpg there was a nice Birkin there too. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v640/snookwheel/DSC00399.jpg Scott
2. Glad to hear you are making it happen!! Another 'car thing' to consider. I can't hear my radar detector at speed. Pretty much makes it useless. Get one with an earphone jack. I think Valentine One's have one. there might be a GPS that has one too. EDIT: How 'bout that! I just googled radar detectors with earphone jack.... and whaddya know. Mine has one, just never noticed. It's an escort 9500i.. works great and now a part of the Stalker!Glad you posted your question Bstr13! Scott
3. That is why I added power steering. What a difference!! Especially for AutoX. It's electric-Hydraulic (EHPS), so I can switch it on or off. Makes it easy to move it around the driveway if I don't want to start it. Scot
4. Heh, heh.... Got a heater too! And I live in Florida. I have to say, I thought about removing the heater to save weight. BUT, once I realized that it allowed me to use the car when the temp dropped below 75 degrees, I kept it.
5. Overall it's a bit much.. But I kinda like the front Aero design. Not to mention the potential for the Bride and Bride feature to be amusing!!:jester:
6. I used cheap Home Depot indoor/outdoor carpet that I had left over from covering boat trailer bunks. Works fine. Heavy duty Velcro holds it in place. The main objective I had was to be able to throw my goggles under the front of the seat and not have the lenses get scratched up. The pieces that cover the forward foot well can pull free of the Velcro when you get in the car if you are not careful. Hooks or snaps would fix that. Under way, pulling free is never an issue. Easy to remove for AutoX and dresses it up for the street. I think I have 20 minutes and under $10.00 into the project. I saw somewhere where a 7 owner cut thin plywood to fit the floor and covered them in carpet. Looked good and would be easy to take in and out. 7. Kale co. already offers a seasonal air system for tires. A very good idea and reasonably priced!:hurray: http://kalecoauto.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=45
8. Since the car was a gift to my wife for our 25th wedding anniversary, I call it my wife's Stalker! Get's some funny looks when she say's she loves her Stalker.:driving: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v640/snookwheel/IMG_7555.jpg Scott
9. If it is not too much trouble, I would love to see some pictures from different angles. It looks like you curved it to fit. Is that a bar across the middle of the shield? I bet those could slide behind my seat when not in use. Scott
10. Neat idea John! How is the panel attached? Scott
11. Funny you mentioned that. We tried that as well. Zero effect. Then, I moved the sunshades to the side, effectively increasing the height of the wind wing. That did help with the outside ear buffeting. I can post a picture if you want a visual. Cheap from Pep Boys Auto Parts. I think $5.00. Scott
12. We took a trip today (about 150 miles) and used it as an opportunity to try somthing to cut down on the wind buffeting. I cut down an old window screen to fit across the roll bar, zip tied it on and the difference was pretty significant. I removed the screen at a rest stop at the start of on the Skyway Bridge, (a 5.5 mile bridge that spans Tampa Bay) to see if I could tell the difference. Boy could we.... as soon as we got to the other side it went back on! Next step is to have one made that I can roll up and Velcro on. I do have a fairly high windshield and wind wings which may have combined to give me the favorable results I saw today. Well worth the effort to reduce buffeting! I had searched this forum and read some less than favorable results from some folks. That was not the case for us. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v640/snookwheel/Windbuffettest1.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v640/snookwheel/windbuffettest.jpg And a pic. of my 78 year old Dad who we were visiting. He is an ex Commercial Pilot, Aerobatics Pilot and Alaskan Bush Pilot. He'd love the Stalker, but those skinny seats make it a bit rough for him to get in and out of these days. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v640/snookwheel/DaddyLyleandScott.jpg
13. Once it has already been registered and assigned a VIN by the original builder, do you still have to go through all the 'inspection stuff' in order to get it registered to you in CT.? I would think the big challenge is to the original builder. Anyway, best of luck!! When do you pick it up? Scott
14. That's good looking Bacon!:puke: Some funny Youtube stuff 'bout that stuff. Scott
15. You guys have got me thinking..... my 7esque ride is all black...... may need to re think my paint job. I've been relying on the 'Loud Pipes Save Lives' thing a bit too much.
16. Congratulations! I'm pretty sure I have seen pictures of that Super Stalker. Looks like a nice build! That drive will be an adventure! pack light. Scott
17. I have the Ultrashield 16" seats in my Super Stalker. I'm just under 6' and 190 lbs. Good fit. So who's Stalker are you getting, #81? You are going to love it!:driving:
18. Could be a great deal!! What color shag?:cooldude:
19. That is funny!!! Great ad!
20. That's the one I was thinking of!
21. Or a Supercharger! Torque is a gooood. There is a SuperStalker out there with a wing mounted towards the middle of the car on it's roll cage. Not sure where I saw the picture.
22. YouTube - la vanne blanche a l'eau Thinning of the herd..
23. She has beaten me twice! Only on practice days though.... Still, I do get quite a bit of ribbing from the guys when it happens (as I should!). Actually, it's the best thing that can happen. When she beats me, she likes the sport just that much more! The more she likes it, the more we do it!:hurray: We ran a few weeks ago on a cart track in the Daytona Speedway. It had been decided that if she beat me there, I would have to wear a 'Man card REVOKED' shirt at the next couple events. I really focused on those runs! The 25 on the side of the car has a significance. I gave her the SuperStalker as a 25th wedding anniversary gift.... AND lived to tell about it too. Guess I should keep her around for a while. Might be hard to find another as tolerant. :driving:
24. We had a great time at an Autocross put on by a local club at the Brooksville Hernando airport. I took FTD and my wife came in right behind me. Swapping out for some fresh rear tires made a huge difference! We took several Nube's for rides. It is always a blast to see their expressions after a hot run. 54 cars, but we were the only 7-type. Mary's best run (with passenger): My FTD run: In car view of course:
