  1. We have a Super Stalker. It weighs around 1,550 lbs. It was OK with manual steering and street tires. But when we put on 10" wide slicks, it was quite a bit harder to steer. We use the car for Autocross on a pretty regular basis. The steering with slicks was a real handful on that type of course. We converted to power steering with an electric hydraulic pump from a 3rd gen. MR2 spyder and a Chevette power steering rack. It made a real difference, I can think about driving... not getting leverage to steer through the next turn. Even with the street tires, I have to say it is more enjoyable. I highly recommend it. Being an electric pump, moving the car around by hand with the engine off is a breeze. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v640/snookwheel/th_P1040916.jpg Scott
  2. One to harass the Golfers at my old office: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v640/snookwheel/Poster3.jpg
  3. Love it! :driving:
  4. I agree. That would be fun.
  5. You'd have to stab 'em with it.They are so stunned, you could literally reach down and pick them up. They won't be eating anything for a while....if they even live. The real cold stuff hits tonight.
  6. There must be a hundred of 'em stunned under our dock. Too bad the regulations can't be relaxed so all the meat does not go to waste. The cold temps predicted for tonight will surely finish them off..:banghead: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v640/snookwheel/P1050280.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v640/snookwheel/P1050287.jpg Scott

Me too! Quite a few found themselves on a road course...........wayyyy back in the day.. A fish bowl on wheels! The Gremlin was another fine little ride. First car I ever drove (unauthorized drive, did a lawn job... got caught.. Dad was called... got grounded, smacked....and learned my lesson.... kinda:leaving:) Scott
  13. That is too bad. I had a 900S right out of college. Slow.... but very reliable. 187,000 miles and lost it to a flood (1993 no name storm on Fl. West coast). Hate to see it happen. A true Saab story;-) http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/motors/2778173/Motor-vehicle-company-Saab-to-shut-down.html
  14. I am not very familiar with a Zetec engine fuel injection system, but had a very similar issue with my Stalker (Fuel Injected 3.8). I tried about everything trying to find it. It ended up being a fairly clogged screen inside the fuel regulator. In my situation, the fuel regulator is mounted on the fuel rail and comes apart pretty easy by removing a C-clip. I sprayed off the screen, stuck it back together and the problem was solved. I did also clean up some scuzzy fuel filters. There was some degraded sealant floating around in the fuel tank that had been causing the issue. Best of luck! Scott
  15. Keep the teachers and get rid of the janitor! :leaving:
  16. It is a small world! We are doing more of the fast stuff than off road stuff these days... but I miss it. Once my kid left for college, I was solo. My wife will go fast, just not off road, so the 7 works out great! Good to see another Pirate here.:cooldude:
  17. We have a Heater Craft heater. Being in Florida..... the big wimp "I'm Cold" syndrome kicks in pretty quickly when the temp drops below 60 degrees! http://www.jcwhitney.com/HEATER_KITS_FOR_ON-ROAD_and_OFF-ROAD_VEHICLES?ID=12;0;1101002307;0;100001;ProductName;0;0;0;0;2002895;0;0 http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v640/snookwheel/P1050180.jpg Still Have to dress warm up top. But, the lower 'essentials' stay very comfy!:driving:
  18. I agree.
  19. Wow, that is a very rough time. We will say a prayer for you and your family. I hope your Mom heals quickly. Scott
  20. Wow! That is beautiful! X2 on the wiring too! What wheels are those? Scott
  21. And a Great Thanksgiving to you and every else. Smoking a Turkey in the back yard, my Son is home from college, got to make a Stalker run to get Hickory chunks..... a good day!
  22. And even less practical... but WOW! taking the minimalist approach to the extreme! Bet uphill is less fun! http://www.gamaniak.com/embed.swf?file=http://media.gamaniak.com/vid/descente-cote-buggy-rollin.mp4&image=http://www.gamaniak.com/pics/3625.jpg&showdigits=true&controlbar=over&link=http://www.gamaniak.com/video-3625-descente-cote-buggyrollin.html&displayclick=link
  23. OK... Since we are looking at cool haulers... and at the risk of exposing my Red Neck side to the Seven Folks, here's a unique hauler my Son and I built and used for our Jeeping years.... The ultimate father/son project!! One jeep inside, one behind and full living quarters. Uhaul actually uses pictures of it to sell their old trucks! http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v640/snookwheel/100_3226.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v640/snookwheel/100_3225.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v640/snookwheel/100_3150.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v640/snookwheel/100_3148.jpg Just before we sold her, she was a hauler for our Solo Vee:
  24. That sounds interesting! Please post pics of the progress. PS, I guess it may be in the name.... I also have a Mary that loves riding...uh, better make that 'driving' the Stalker whenever possible!:driving:
