  1. Mike, Just drive the way you drove at NJMP. You won't have any trouble. The S4 that set the SCCA track record had about a 1600 motor as well. Every turn is banked to some degree and many are down hill compression turns to boot. Get an instructor to ride with you on lap one. I did not and regret it. Have fun. Drive fast.
  2. Chip Bond from GT Classics thought it sounded like a loose connecting pin in the linkage. We won't get to it until next week. That was the first half of my first session ever on the track. No instructor preview or anything. You are correct that it is a flat out top speed course. Every time someone went OFF, NASCAR Flagers black flagged all cars to the grid until the car was removed. That ate up allot of time over heated cars and used up fuel.
  3. Hi Guys, Sorry for the silence. The 300 mile drive to WG, the 92+ heat and 5 track sessions and a 300 mile return trip sort of wore me out. :svengo: I drove up on Saturday and found a SCCA Double National event. The answer to "What does a fast Seven turn on WG long course?" is 2:11.4 (a SCCA track record for FP) was set Satuurday by Jerry Henkle in his FP S4 Lotus during qualifying. It was a good event and an amazing facility now owned by NASCAR. During Mondays' SCDA advanced driver sessions slower cars and Black Flags made it impossible to get a clean timed lap. By my fourth session my trans started freezing in fourth gear. By the time I pointed everyone by it cooled down so I could upshift to fifth and catch them only to have it lock in fourth once again. It got bad enough that I decided to skip the fifth session and returned home on Tuesday morning. Would I go again? In a heart beat. It is really, really fun and really fast. It takes alot of heart to not lift, something I did to often. I would love to have clean laps like we did at NJMP. :lurk:I have part of one of my first sessions with 4 Ferrari Challenge cars ready to post but it is 1.85 GB. Please note that I actually passed a red Ferrari 360 right in the begining. I will try YouTube first.
  4. Klasik-69 I was given a lifetime exemption from Maryland emission regs due to the lack of clearence to access the equipment at the testing stations. That said I switched to a side exit because or the exhause smell rolling back in from the rear exit. In making the move I removed the cat and everything associated with it. Quicksilver Racengines in Frederick, Maryland upgraded the motor with TWM TBs, cams pistons etc to reach 220 HP. I am leaving tomorrow for Watkins Glen. They have a 99DB sound limit. Maybe I will learn how loud or quiet the Hushpower is.
  5. Thus far it has a relatively loud rich sound. Some of the loud may be from a hole in the 4 into 1. It being welded where one of the pipes separated from the base plate and a new gasket will arrive tomorrow. Saturday I will get the car ready for Watkins Glen and know how it sounds.
  6. I But I hope to find out. ;-)

  9. Anyone know the part numbers and supplier for Standard 2000 dedion rear brake pads?
  10. My Chase came did not work on either day. I did take a few photos though. BTW: Mike thank you for sharing your garage with all of us. Yes, the rain came to the track at exactly 2:00 PM, just in time for for our track session. Tom and I waited patiently as the water got deeper and deeper. 25 minutes later it stopped raining and we left for a dry drive home. Can't wait to get together again. Scroll down. http://www.usa7s.net/vb/album.php?albumid=43
  11. Yes they do. I am working with the Potomac PCA group to sign off on my advanced status pending confirmation of my advanced status with our local NASA and SCCA officials. The WG PCA event on the 30th doesn't work for me.
