  1. Check your auto insurance policy. I found that my insurance policy had a glass clause. It covered sending a nwe windshield with stanchions overnight from England. No kidding. They said that costs less than shipping any american windshield across Manhatten.
  2. I posted photos of the 13" MotoLetia streering wheel and Prisoner wheels with 888s on http://www.topdocsracing.com under Caterham for Sale. One set of Kodiacs are sold as is the MotoLetia steering wheel.
  3. The steering wheel is a 13" moto Lita wood rim.
  4. I will try to post photos of the wheels and steering wheel this weekend. Sdca1 - I did not receive a PM Stig - I did not receive a PM

  6. Tom, Is this members only time or is it with a group? How late in the Fall do they have evennts at NJMP? I missed NASA atVIR this weekend and will miss NASA SP in November for work. I may need a fix before I put the car away for the winter. Michael Michael
  7. Mike, Very well done. The car looks great. Can I bring mine up and leave it with you for a few weeks?
  8. John, Why did you remove the video from YouTube?
  9. Terry, If you were asking about my car, it is the first factory Caterham Zetec in the US. The 1998 chassis was modified by Caterham in England to fit the Zetec and then shipped to Frank Bolton in Atlanta in 2000. Frank was the US Caterham distributor at the time. When Frank sold the distributorship to Jon Nelson he sold the car to George Alderman of Mid-Atlantic Cateham. George then sold it to me. I replaced the stock Zetec engine with a New ZX3 motor from Ford Racing and had Mid Atlantic Caterham make the initial upgrade of cams and throttle bodies. The final and current tune and cams and all subsequent engine maintenance has be performed by Quicksilver in Frederick, MD. The NEW QuickSilver motor dynoed at 216HP on pump gas as of June 18, 2011. It is registered in Maryland as assembled vehicle and has a lifetime Maryland emissons inspection waiver. More info on http://www.topdocsracing.com
  10. Specs like my car, minus a some HP from the Quicksilver engine mod; a custom, full removable, roll cage, race shocks and springs, Quaife LSD and clam shells. Oh yeah, mine does not have the "extra" heaterfile:///C:/Users/Michael/AppData/Local/Temp/moz-screenshot-1.png. :-) Posted For Sale at: http://www.topdocsracing.com/home/photos-2file:///C:/Users/Michael/AppData/Local/Temp/moz-screenshot.png
  11. Sounds like the CF now weighs as much as FG
  12. FYI an SV is 4 inches wider and 4 inches longer than a standard Caterham Seven.
  13. Why not just cover your car in CF? 28sq ft only $182 http://www.carbonfiberfilm.com/
  14. Maybe I should just bring the cushions from the lawn chairs.
  15. I replaced my stock Caterham muffler with a Hushpower. I chose it for its' small size and lighter weight. Thus far I have found it to be conversive at casual speeds and still sounds great at track speeds. Yes, I can still hear my iPod at highway speed.
  16. 140 sounds like fun to me. My car often shows 146 but that is because I run 20" tires. Not the 23" tires that the stock caterham speedo is set up for. The little tires spin about 15% faster. Ergo I am only going 129 or so. Very booring when the Porsches, Cobras and Corvettes are blasting by. Maybe next year Karl will put blocks on his pedals and let me test drive his car at NJMSP. And then I woke up.:smilielol5:
  17. Nice car. Does it run rich? Having an older chassis is not unusual. Mine has a 98 chassis number but was not assembeled, invoiced and shipped to the US until 2000 as the first Zetec Seven America.
  18. I wish mine could be so easy to find. A short somewhere keeps cutting my motor out. Things like potholes, expansion joints or even rapid acceleration can cut it out or bring it back. It will be a fun weekend.
  19. Thanks for the good tips. I am off on business for the next three weeks. Hope to look try some of your suggestions when I return.
  20. I am trying to figure out the cause for intermittent power loss. Fuel pressure remains steady at 62 psi. Ground wires all seem tight. Power loss is complete and may occur upon acceleration or it may cut out after crusing for 30 minutes without any problem. I can pull over and restart it. However it cuts out almost immediately. If I let it cool down for 20 minutes, it may drive for 10 to 15 minutes. I replaced the crank sensor this morning. It drove about 5 minutes before it died the first time. BTW I do not have to reset the switch to restart the motor. In fact, sometimes I simply depress the clutch as soon as I see the gauges flatline and the let the clutch out to restart the car. The switch is mounted to the bulkhead just behind the battery. I always thought the switch was either off or on but never internittent. I have pushed down on the top of the switch. It does not seem to have any movement. Could the inertia switch have a short in it?
  21. Has anyone experienced a intermittent loss of all power while driving that may seem like a fuel loss issue only to have the motor kick in again? This loss of power may coincide with hitting expansion joints in the highway or bumps while rounding a turn. All ground wires are secure. Fuses are secure. Fuel pressure is a constant 61psi. The end of this video is exactly what happens except that the car will start immediately. I may drive for 30 minutes before it occurs. I think it could be the inertia switch. Anyone know how to test the switch? Thanks for your thoughts, Michael D.
  22. I will second the "weakest hurricane" comment. Heck we went out to dinner with friends in downtown DC on Saturday night. No traffic, little rain and great service. Pi7ot sorry to hear about house being under 13 feet of water. That sucks. Otherwise glad most of you got through it fairly well.
  23. Mike, On second thought....why not just take the Duratec out of the Birkin and put it in the Caterham. Then you would have what Croc has :-)
