To much toe out will also cause some "darting" at highway speeds. In moderation one might describe it as lightness or a drifting effect in the front end.

My car is the first Caterham with a factory installed Zetec in the US. The engine is back as far as it can go. My cross weights ae 50 x 50. The Clam Shells would make the front very light over 110. To a point that I felt more than a little suseptable to cross winds. This photo shows the crude yet very effective splitter/large canard combo now on my nose cone. With it, the car is rock solid at 135+ with plenty of front and rear grip. One of the Birkins I run with seems to be able to beat me on the long straights. He also has a diffuser with similar HP. Maybe they do help ;-) Can't upload photo??

Lots of fun this morning at the autocross. Norm Beaver organinized a great course on a tiny lot with lots ofngravel. The event and it went off without a hitch. Fun was had by all. We even had spectators who applauded each driver as they passed by. My thanks to all for an enjoyable evening at the banquet and the autocross.

Does anyone have experience with the Vauxhall dohc 16v motor? Are they legal in US? Where are they serviced? What is parts supply like? Etc... Thanks for your thoughets. Michael D.

My car with a 216 hp Zetec and hits 132 on the front and back straights of VIR and the front straight at Summit Point. It is not redlined but almost. It has clams and a splitter with 4 inch cannards on the front that keep the front planted and stable.

Actually Pete has a Gren, Caterham DeDion with his own 250HP Dunnell Zetec. His 2:11+ was exceptional. This was his first day at VIR ever! Way to go Pete. John Meyers was on fire. It was said at the awards gathering that John had the giggest b^^^s at VIR. The only car faster was a 850HP 1974 Cuda and a 600 hp Viper. (Factory supportrd) Folis was in his quick mode with a respectable 2:19+

Folis Jones was the other Seven pictured above. Scott Knott was there for Time Trials with a red Lotus Elyse but he lost a belt and went home early. I just finished a 200 mile break in for th new motor and all is well again.

Texas Steakhouse is very good. 25 minutes from the track. You could also stay in Charles Town at the Holiday Inn Express only 8 miles from the track.
