Check your pms Michael........

Thanks Ian but sadly our budget doesn't stretch as far as Quaife, unless soemone had one at firesale prices! I THINK I am close to a deal for a T-9 from Ross' suggested source. Will advise the group if/when the ad becomes redundant.
-
Thanks Ross......
-
Perhaps I should have prefaced this by asking why many feel that the T-9 is a better choice than a 4 speed. They don't seem to be very common or plentiful! Is there virtue merely the addition of an overdrive?

Pardon my ignorance but what is so special about the radtec rad? I haven't seen them mentioned here but on numerous occasions I have used Saldana Racing Products in Brownsburg, IN for specialty rads, quite successfully I might add. Custom aluminum rads are their main business. I'm confident that, if someone could supply them with the specs, they could supply a replacement at a very competitive price. They made a run of aluminum for a bunch of us Europa owners, considerably cheaper (almost 1/2 price!) from a company that had previously supplied them to the group. And "Made in America" to boot!

Anyone have a spare hanging around? Planning to mate it to a Zetec if that matters...

I'm interested Bob. Have a picture? Size? We have a mid 70s Cat so am not sure of the fit. In case anyone has any other instruments we have none: we are ressurrecting a basketcase. We also need pedals an master cylinders.

(still got one back in Montreal for any Canadian lurkers out there...) Oh sure.... Where were ya when we were looking for one last year??? :willy_nilly: And worse, we're less than 2 hr from Montreal! All's well that ends well tho... Thanks to Craig Chima we are now well on our way to happy motoring! :hurray:

Anyone on here running a Zetec with webers? I'm curious what is running your ignition... Thanks

I tried to heat the cab of my garden tractor with one of the 12V units way back when... was a total waste of time! You'd do better with a couple Bic lighters in my opinion..... Have you considered going to one similar to the newer Caterhams? We use a small auxiliary automotive heater in the back of our motor home, will drive you out in no time, even in sub-zero temps. That would at least keep your feet warm, maybe more if you devised a modified tonneau cover that zipped up around your neck! :driving:

Found a flywheel..... Down to needing pedals, webers and intakes.......

We picked up a 1.6 litre crossflow Ford for our Caterham project... Now looking for a flywheel as it was used with an auto trans so has a flexplate presently. Also looking for intakes/carbs to replace the oem downdraft system.

Lexan Gullwing Half-Doors - anybody interested?
Paul Hill replied to slomove's topic in Parts For Sale / Wanted
Gert.... Interesting headlights. Care to share the details? -
Seems we've been lucky lately in our search for parts. Presently we are down to needing a set of pedals, preferrably with master cylinders, and intakes/carbs for a 1.6 Ford Escort motor. Webers would be preferred but we are open to options. I'm trying to avoid the cost of going to fuel injection but might consider it if nothing else comes along. There may be some other misc items down the road as we assemble the bits but that won't be til spring. Thanks to all who have offered assistance/parts!

Please put me next in line if for some reason your present deal falls through! Alternatively, if someone else has a set for a Caterham with doors that they are no longer using then by all means contact me. Thanks

Parts arrived yesterday, all safe and sound. Nice wrapping job Karl, no way they were going to get marked in transit! Was a true pleasure doing business with you..... if you ever have any more parts extra to your needs please call me 1st!

Wanted...early rhd Caterham handbrake handle
Paul Hill replied to Paul Hill's topic in Parts For Sale / Wanted
Found one, with cables no less! -
Sorry to disappoint the rest of you but "the good Lord willing and the creeks don't rise..." I believe Karl and I have a deal. Now... anyone have a spare anti sway bar to fit? And while I'm searching, how about an e-brake handle for an early rhd S3? Boot cover? OEM rollbar?

Sent you a pm Karl.......

Looking for an early Caterham handbrake handle for rhd model.....

Name: Paul and Rosemarie Location: Morrisburg, Ontario Car: early short cockpit Caterham Due date: spring 2011 A "friend" took Rosemarie for a ride in his seven a couple years ago and she has been all fired up to have her own ever since. So, we've been searching for a seven project of some type... Found this car(?) through friends in Ohio. What started as a deal on a bare chassis/alloy body ended up being a roller by the time we were done. There is no chassis number evident in the usual spots of the footwell or rear shock mount, the chassis plate is missing, although the claim was that it was a Caterham of unknown vintage. I sent photos to Caterham in England. They identified it as definitely being an early short cockpit Caterham. There is only 1 pair of louvres near the rear edge of the hood. Can anyone give us a clue as to the year, or where to look for a chassis number? We are still corresponding with Caterham but so far without much success with adding a chassis number. I have been slowly chasing parts to complete it, gradually getting closer. At this point the power will come from a 1.6 litre Ford Escort crossflow. I have original Lotus fibreglass fenders and nose, have found a windscreen, top and doors, later Caterham leather seats, lights, wipers, exhaust, motor mounts. Still looking for a pedal assembly and master cylinders if anyone happens to have spares! The present "custodian" agreed to add the pieces to make it a roller over the winter, ready for pickup in the spring. The final build will have to wait a bit as it is going to have to wait til my primary project is completed... a '70 Europa with a Spyder frame and suspension, Zetec motor. The chassis/drivetrain is complete with bodywork just getting started. Hopefully we'll have it on the road next summer so we can get at the Caterham! Paul

You might try calling them..... for some reason some outfits in the old country are not as email friendly as we are on this side of the big pond. I have not personally dealt with them but know of quite a few who have bought pieces from them recently. I built my own surpentine assembly using parts bought from NAPA when I put a Zetec in my Europa. Had to fab a few mounts but it certainly wasn't rocket science. If you weren't so far away I'd be interested in your ZX1!
