  1. Oops... The Ontario reference had me thinking yu were Canadian. I am sure Harbor Freight has similar punch sets.
  2. Where would you like to find it? Princess Auto sells a set of stamps for less than $10.00.... May not suit your sensibilities but as long as you are using the number from your paperwork where is the foul? Obviously this would be a last resort option, preference being to find the original number. But what if it was never stamped? And as previouly mentioned, as long as you use the correct number, who would care if it showed up somewhere else on the frame?
  3. Thanks guys. Croc...I was trying to go to his website for an install info sheet for the belt squeal kit. Not sure that a phone call will suffice but, in any event would need to access the site to get the number...
  4. Has anyone else had a problem with their website? Have tried a few times over the last few days, keep getting a warning that the site is infested with malware! Have not been on the site in quite a while, never had a problem in the past. Any thoughts? I do have an AVG spyware/malware/antivirus program running but, do I want to invite a problem?
  5. Thanks for the trip down memory lane Skip! We had hoped to have our Cat together in time to join in but unfortunately health issues have delayed a lot of my plans...car is still completely apart. We did take advantage of a sale offered by Viarail last winter and took the train from Toronto to Vancouver in mid May so saw a lot of the same scenery from a different vantage point. Nope, not the same as from the driver's seat of a Seven but it did have its perks... BTW...seems our new Smart tv is smarter than the operator, took almost 2 hr to finally get your slide show running. Sure looks better on a 60" screen than on my phone... Thanks again!
  6. Link went to the general website... Where within the site are your pics?
  7. This is tough when the smart phone is smarter than me... would not have been possible for the "old" me. I don't regret a minute of it. And I guess my rationalising the cost of karting as being tuition for a different kind of education wasn't so far off the mark. The bottom line for me is that life is too short, your kids are old before you know it, so spend as much family time as you can while you can. You've made the right choice with the job situation!
  8. Sorry...hit a wrong button! Anyway...we spent 12 yrs racing karts, the boys running 125 shifters with the WKA National Road Race Series all over the eastern US for the final 8 yrs. And now, 5 yrs later, both are gainfully employed in the speedy end of the automotive industry. Trevor (27) is on salary at Calabogie Motorsports Park, wearing multiple hats, including instructor with their fleet of Mustangs. Travis (25) is their resident pro instructor, as well as being the Canadian rep for Switzer Performance, developing their track packages on Nissan GTRs and Porsche 911s. Plus they both maintain race cars for others, offering track support and driver coaching as well. So for me the 20 weekends a year with the karts, the many shared hours of prep and planning, us seeing most of North America in the process
  9. 20 yrs ago I lost my almost 17 yr old daughter. I deeply regretted the 80 hr/wk workaholic that I had become, that I had not been there more. Having 5 and 7 yr old sons at home, I decided that very little was as important as spending more quality time with them than I had with their sister. Downsized a lot of things in my life, quit being a slave to the almighty $$$, and spent as much time with my boys as a part-time Dad could. Looking back with the luxury of hindsight it was the smartest decision of my life.
  10. The initial plans were to have a garage under the frame at the back. The structure got a little too involved and the overhang behind the axle excessive so we're back to hauling a trailer...which I will build after the m/h is done. Sacrilege I know but we can always haul the BMW 325IC til I get the Caterham or Europa completed.
  11. Rosemarie is still waiting for me to put her '76 Caterham back together. Would go a lot quicker if the "honeydo" list quit leading to so many "while-we're-at-might-as-well" distractions...sure can stretch out projects. Shipwrights disease run amuck on too many fronts! A$$ deep in building a new 40' motorhome on a GMC Topkick cab/chassis...so the Caterham is gathering dust in the corner.
  12. You might try "Fleetpride" if there is one in your area. They are driveline specialists, prime business being heavy truck shafts and joints. But their Watertown NY shop has done many driveshafts for area racers. I have personally used them many times, would recommend them to anyone. They are a large chain, I know they have outlets all over the east.
  13. David Had to chuckle at your "one traffic light town" comment... our little town of Morrisburg is not a lot bigger and only has 1 light! Guy was actually not in town...built his kits literally in a barn a few miles out. Am suddenly feeling old when I recall that it was likely 25 years ago that I was last there! Where DID the time go?
  14. Yup...kit was made in Van Kleek Hill, Ontario by Guy Williams. Legal hassles over his clone of the Dutton kit prompted the new model I believe. He did make some other sevenish kits but haven't heard a peep about him in years.
  15. That would not surprise me...his 1st version was even closer to a Dutton. He followed up with one with a 7ish nose/Cobra style rear. He used to listed in a lot of the old kit car guides but I haven't scrolled through one of those in a long time. Lord knows I have enough projects with a basketcase early Caterham, a partially finished Spyder framed/Zetec powered Europa, and a 40' motorhome project based on a '93 GMC Topkick! Maybe I need a hobby for my spare time...
  16. Not sure what ever became of the company but this kit was manufactured by a chap named Guy Williams I believe. He worked out of a barn near Vankleek Hill in eastern Ontario. He based his kits on Toyota running gear. Haven't seen nor heard of him in years despite being only an hour's drive from me....
  17. Karting huh? My wallet twitches remembering when my 2 sons were racing shifter karts all over the eastern half of the US with the wka national road race series...for only 6 yrs! We put over 200, 000 miles on our motorhome and 34' trailer. Ask me how I know how preposterously expensive that was. Cost me less when we ran a Super modified at Oswego...

    Calgary floods

Worse than the time will be the uninsured losses: very few houses will be insured as "overland flooding" coverage is rare in Canada. The flooding from 2005 is still being fought through the courts, hardly anyone has yet seen any cost recovery. And the Alberta government has a cap on disaster assistance that won't pay for most houses let alone the contents
  19. Post boxes are actually safer with rhd as you can drive in the correct road direction and reach the box rather than the typical idiot that pulls ovrr to the wrong side of the road. I had one of those a**holes almost get me last night when he pulled out right in front of me after getting his mail.
  20. We have a fair bit of personal experience with rhd...a close friend having a '62 S2 rhd that has spent a lot of time in our hands...and have been none the worse for the experience. Maybe I should not tempt the fates and add "so far"!
  21. My question was based on Oyagi's point of the "new" prejudice, made me wonder if there were perhaps some new government interventions that I should be concerned about...
  22. Prejudice against rhd? Do tell please, before I invest more time in our rhd Caterham project.....
  23. Strange...it does not show up as a link with my android but the last 4 words DID work as one. Thanks again Texas.
  24. I must have missed something.... Was there a hidden link to a sale site somewhere? All I have seen on this thread is the comments, no info about the car or its whereabouts. Not that is really matters with it now sold....
