    shit on

I've been lucky to only get the small yellow bird poop so far. After going through 11 Miatas and 1 Locost so far, I've been pretty lucky. Obviously, now that it's out in the open, I'll be the statue every day.
  2. Welcome to the forum. If you add your location to your profile then you'll find the locals are quite friendly. And, of course, please post pictures.
  3. (Steps forward) I didn't see an icon for this, but I'm the new owner of Franck's (originally Jeff Underwood's) car. The car was picked up by Gary Straight yesterday and is currently making it's way from Pennsylvania to California. As you can imagine, I can't wait for it to arrive. I'll be sure to post mu impressions and plenty of photos. Aaron
  4. The car is SOLD. The new owner sent his cousin to pick it up Saturday morning. He lives in the Bay area but the car is currently in San Diego. I will miss it. I'll post the last set of pictures taken the night before.
  5. SOLD. New owner picked it up yesterday morning.
  6. Better for me: 1) Already has a rollcage (I was going to have one built for my current car) 2) BEC - always wanted to try a BEC with sequential transmission 3) Suspension has been well-developed on track Realistically, it will be slower in a straight line and less powerful than my current Locost with a turbo Miata engine. But I'm willing to sacrifice that for a chance at the bike engine/trans.
  7. Unfortunately, I have not tracked the car and I don't have performance numbers. The original builder had it dyno tuned at 240whp and tracked it a couple times before I bought it. Here's the dyno chart: http://i213.photobucket.com/albums/cc175/vcpinjectionpb/LoCost/LoCost240.jpg

    New Build

Wow, beautiful car. I don't usually like the brighter greens but the CF makes a great contrast. I especially like the black powdercoat for the lights and other fittings.

  14. I've just inked a deal for Jeff Underwood's R1 Locost Seven. As a result, this car is now up for sale. I'll post the details in another thread.
  15. I just received more quotes this morning. Philadelphia to Los Angeles: $1080 open (only 1 company provided an open carrier quote) $1550-2235 enclosed
  16. I'm also looking for shipping options from the Philadelphia area to the Los Angeles area. I've contacted the companies listed here (by email and phone) but have heard back from only 1. The only quote I have so far is $1750 for delivery from Philadelphia to Los Angeles by enclosed carrier. How does this compare? Thanks, Aaron
  17. Franck, I'll send my email address via PM. We'll talk again soon. Aaron
  18. The build quality is quite nice. Obviously not as nice as the Caterhams and Birkins I've seen, but the cost of entry was much lower. I had to buy this after I hesitated on Jeff Underwood's R1 Locost.
  19. Thanks, Martin. I have been in contact with Moti and we've discussed cage design and estimated cost. I just wanted to see if there were other good options out there.
  20. Next step is a rollcage for track duty. Any suggestions for cage builders in the Southern California area?

  23. The offset is usually stamped on the back of the wheel between the mounting holes.
  24. I just sold my 11th Miata last week, because I bought a Miata-powered Locost. 240whp on a Mustang dyno should be enough to keep me interested. I started with my first in 2000 and averaged about 1 Miata per year since then.
