  1. Yes, he had it on Ebay. Luckily for me Ebay cancelled his auction and I called the next day.
  2. Less than the cost of a high performance Zetec or Duratec engine. I've seen those priced at $15k for a decent build.
  3. Try these: http://www.locostusa.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=35&t=9336 http://www.ffcars.com/forums/43-off-topic-discussions/240470-got-bored-so-lets-locost-build-7.html Finished pictures are on the last pages of each thread.

Does anyone have experience with the Hawk DTC-60? Compound is supposed to be similar to Carbotech XP8, as both are competitive in the Spec Miata class. I need to install better pads (currently have Autozone pads on 1996 Miata rotors) and have a fresh set of the DTC-60 in the garage. Aaron
  5. Interested so far: mca (me) trough doctor (needs shipping to Canada) wemtd (depends on timeframe) aidanparte (needs RHD version) Ruadhd2 (needs to fit with top snaps) I'll contact Bob to get his input on these matters. Aaron
  6. Can you post a picture of the snaps and how they attach to the windshield frame?
  7. Yes, you can order it already configured for RHD. It can also be reversed with little difficulty.
  8. I want it ASAP. Bob, the manufacturer says he'll need 2-3weeks to get the five total produced.
  9. Yes, I can also inquire about having it shipped directly to you. The deal is $95 each plus $20 shipped to one address.
  10. Bob just told me about how you modified your frame. Mine is 5/8" (16mm). Any details on how you managed to make the mirror fit?
  11. Hi All, I've been lurking for a while and finally purchased a Sevenesque roadster. My name is Aaron Lee and I've been interested in Sevens for the last few years. I've pretty always concentrated on Locosts for the, well you guessed it, low cost of entry. Not that I wouldn't want a proper Caterham or Birkin, but those are a little out of my reach for the time being. Having owned 11 Miatas (I have to kick one out of the garage to accommodate the Locost) I was introduced to Sevens by Keith Tanner at Flyin Miata with his heavily modified CMC Locost. I followed the acquisition and build of that car for a while, found the http://www.locostusa site and had dreams of building my own car. I made sure to secure the OK from the wife, who said I could do anything as long as she had a space to park in the garage. I don't weld or fabricate much at all so eventually gravitated towards buying a complete or almost complete car. I got serious in the last couple of months when some high-quality examples became available. After missing out on this car:http://www.underwood-racing.com/project_seven.htm I found the Locost I own today. http://www.locostusa.com/forums/view...hp?f=35&t=9336 http://www.ffcars.com/forums/43-off-...ost-build.html I purchased the car in Huntsville, Alabama and drove it back to Huntington Beach on a trailer, 3 days of driving across the good 'ole USA. Some quick stats: 1.8L Miata with 5-speed 4.30 Torsen Rear diff (IRS) Turbo running about 17 PSI 240 RWHP and 210 RWTQ Tec-S Electromotive Fuel Management (Tuned on Mustang Dyno at VeryCoolParts.com) 15 Gallon RCI fuel cell NT01's all 4 corners .095 DOM roll bar Speed hut gauges I'll be making minor improvements to her in the near future, but all the hard work has been done. Feel free to ask any questions as I'm still learning more each day. Aaron Lee
  12. Need a set of wind deflectors with hinges and brackets. Please PM or email if you have a set to sell. Thanks, Aaron
  13. See http://www.mirrorsforsevens.com for the product, a rearview mirror custom made for Seven-esque vehicles. I have contacted Bob at http://www.mirrorsforsevens.com regarding a group buy. I am willing to receive the shipment and coordinate distribution to everyone else if we get 5 buyers. Bob says: "I can do group buys of 5 mirrors for $95.00 each. They would have to be shipped in bulk to one address in the lower 48 states. Shipping would be $20.00 UPS ground. I will need a two week lead time to get everything together as I'm a little low on stock at the moment. -Bob" I would like to get this started this week since I need a rearview mirror solution for my Locost. Thanks, Aaron -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Update to this post - edited by slngsht, per request from Bob: There has been considerable interest in a group buy of discounted Mirrorsforsevens panoramic rear view mirrors. I offered to bulk ship a minimum quantity of mirrors at a discount to a single address for local distribution. Since most of the interested parties are spread about the country, this would still require repackaging and shipping to individual addresses. I recognize that this is not a good way to implement a group buy, as it puts a single member of the group in the position of arranging collections, logistics, returns, and such. I believe a club discount would be a more reasonable approach to satisfying the interest shown in this thread. I am offering a $15.00 discount for USA7S club members. As it’s been the policy of the club to avoid commercialism in the general forum, there is a new thread in a more appropriate location. Please login and find the thread: "Mirrorsforsevens club member discount" in the "Club Matters" forum to peruse the details. For those of you who are not paid club members, you can join here: http://usa7s.com/vb/payments.php -Bob
  14. Just my luck, I'm out of town Oct 26-30 as well!
  15. Looks like lots of fun, Martin. Please keep us posted on further autocrosses. I've been itching to try it to develop my car control skills. I've just bought a new Locost so there's no better time to learn. I'll be out of town for Sept. 17th otherwise I would be there.
  16. The title says 2003 model year which would make it very difficult to register in California or anywhere else that cares about emissions.
  17. I'm considering a BEC purchase and would like to find a ride in one nearby. I live in Huntington Beach but am willing to travel to find a ride in what is likely a rare animal. The potential purchase is a Yamaha R1 Locost but any BEC will do for me to get a feel for the difference between bike engine and car engine. For that matter where might I find a relatively local gathering of Sevens and possibly bum a ride? Thanks for the help. Aaron
