So at this point there are no cars available for viewing? You mentioned San Diego in an earlier post...is that your base? When do you expect to have your demo up and running?

We are going to be located in San Diego and also Tennessee where I am. And a couple of special dealers, which will be announced soon.

The timeline is:

January 2014. Concept show car unveiled at AutoSport UK.

Late spring 2014. First evaluation prototype built.

August 2014. Evaluation Prototype 2 with Ecoboost built. Both cars are out on track with customers doing test drives. These are what are being driven now (white clad bodies) and are mules for development and testing also.

Fall 2014. Cars start building. Starting with 4 demo cars.

November 2014. Concept show car being flown to USA for use by Zenos Cars USA.

December 2014. Concept car will be at PRI in Indianapolis (we hope!).

January 2015. "Unveiling" of the car at North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) in Detroit. I think it runs January 7-24 or something like that.

End of January 2015. Demo car for USA market in build.

February. Demo car on way to Southern California. Drivetrain to be installed.

Customer car builds start in March. Right now we are planning on one car each month. That may increase. We will plan on getting a demo car to Tennessee and to the dealerships also.

I'd call it a kit car equivalent of the Lotus 211.

Pretty much. Certainly some comparisons to Ariel Atom, BAC Mono, KTM X-Bow, and the 2-Eleven. It certainly overlaps some with a Seven in regards to purpose. But not as much in regards to the fact that a Seven is really its own niche. Not many people cross shop a KTM-X-Bow and Seven, though it is possible.

I think the nice thing for me... is that on pricing, it comes out very favorably when compared to those cars.

An argument can be made that the BAC Mono is a different market as it is single seater (and far more expensive). And the Ariel Atom is also an exo-skeleton car with more exposure... which some want and some do not want. And the X-Bow is far more expensive and not being exported to the USA market. So in the end, you have a niche vehicle that will appeal to a niche market. And that is all it needs to be successful.

We will see the Zenos E11 and E12 more properly comparing to the Elise/Exige. But it is still a specialty built car so that means the market that wants a federal car with airbags, will not cross shop the Zenos compared to the Elise/Exige, here in USA.

Are you going to be at/represented at SEMA?

I wish, just the timing did not work out. Maybe next year. The show car is being shipped to the USA, the boat left on Sunday (yesterday). The car will be at PRI in Indianapolis next month, and at the Detroit North American International Auto Show in January.

Update. We have already sold over what we anticipated for 2015. We have asked and been granted more cars. The Zenos E10 will be the featured car in the Michelin booth at the Detroit International Auto Show (NAIAS) this January. I will be there during press and trade preview days.

If you are there during those days, stop by. If you are there during public days, check it out.

Tomorrow (Thursday) the E10S will debut at AutoSport in Birmingham UK. I have seen photos I am not allowed to share yet... that shows the improvements and tweaks and the final windscreen and mirror placements. Louvers are added to the back engine bay cover. The interior has been made much nicer. All very exciting.

They call the small screen in front of the steering wheel the driver screen and it is supposed to contain the driving information which means RPM and speed (I think). The idea being you should not have to look away from the business right in front of you.

The information display in the center has all the normal dash screens which can include (as seen in this pic) the same rpms and speed, but also boost, oil pressure, temps, fuel levels. There may be a way to toggle information to display.

Now thats how to build a car. Frankly nothing the major companies produce has me the slightest, and I mean slightest, bit interested. This car seems to be something special, like the Elise. I wish I could afford one. Of course, how many sports cars can a guy use? heh.

PS, if you want to send that beat up old nasty prototype my way, I'll promise to give it a good home.

We were at Detroit's North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) all last week for the Preview. Some cool cars here! The Zenos is on display at the Michelin Design Challenge booth. Stop by and check it out if you are attending.
