wemtd
There was a nice little write up in the local paper of a vintage Caterham. Does anyone know if Aiden is on this forum? He may just be on BlatChat, but seeing as there are so few of us and i think Blokko is new to the Boston area I thought i'd ask... more here Cheers P. Hettric
Could not get the link to work, here is another for the video http://sudbury.wickedlocal.com/article/20141005/NEWS/141008046/0/SEARCH Aiden was kind enough to show me his car and give me a ride - resulting in my buying a seven. Taber10
Great article, great video, great couple of guys! Absolutely right on a few points: The Cat always gets attention; Most Americans don't recognize it, although more do if you say "Lotus 7"--I wonder if Caterham's foray into F1 will bring greater recognition?--and most classic cars here are "over-restored" resulting in "over-protection." While our British car club has some "drivers" we also have "showers" that prefer attending car shows over actual driving. Thanks for the post! Blokko
Inspires me to try to get a Caterham for my stay in Boston. Been looking at houses today - one of the properties we are looking at has a nice garage for working on and storing a 7 :-) Finding a suitable car that can be registered in MA is another question though...... wemtd
Blokko - It can be done, please don't give up hope. Chris at sevens&elans may be a good resource - as well as Crock trolling the 4am classified's. While you are here you could quietly slip into a nice tight fitting Birkin or Westfield. Or... Go over to the dark side and get a stalker. The two I've seen we're some of the best sorted se7ens. both driven by exceptional gentlemen. You make it sound like I am a sinister dirty old man trying to pick up little girls in the early hours and you link me with Chris in the same sentence :bs:  I think I like this one for Steve (Blokko): http://janesville.craigslist.org/cto/4674910930.html While you are here you could quietly slip into a nice tight fitting Birkin or Westfield. LOL - with Steve everything is tight fitting. He is built for comfort like me! :jester: ...driven by exceptional gentlemen. Could not be anyone I know? Blokko
Mike - my eyes hurt after clicking on that link :ack::ack: I've posted on here before that I'm not opposed to owning a 7esque car. Preference would be for a Westie. The factory is less than 15 miles from my home in the UK and I've had a number of chats with Simon Westwood over the years. I'm back in the UK for a few days in Nov and I'm going to see whether I can arrange a test drive. It will be interesting to see if TTIP does make any difference to how UK kit cars can be sold / imported into the US. I would love nothing more than to get a fully built car (or rolling chassis) shipped over from the UK at a price and spec that is nearer to that of a UK car. As much as I'd love to build a kit I think that a Westie would be too time consuming for me.
wemtd
Crock my mistake.. it was late at night but I should have realized you and Steve are more interested in Hammond's taupe pensioner-mobile for your next car. :puke: Edited October 26, 2014 by wemtd
