Well I tried my Mirrors for Sevens mirror at the Se7ens gathering in Roaring River, Mo., last week, and it was GREAT!!!! I found myself not even using my two outside mirrors after a while. Very stable and it even worked when I put my top on. Very well made product. I recommend it highly. Just be sure your windscreen frame is 14mm or 9/16" thick. My extrusion was 5/8" thick and I had to mill it down for the clips to work. But no big deal. Russ

And I have a pretty wide, generic, rearview tilt glare mirror mounted on the glass ..

Damn thing fell off AGAIN where it was glued to the glass :banghead: ..

.. Might splurge on a mirrors for sevens ..

My cracked windshield (what an adventure) is being replaced. The mirror glued to it is gone so the replacement from Mirrors for Sevens, is waiting in the garage for the car's return.

FWIW, Skip had one on his car. At first I didn't like it very much...but when I got used to it, it was very useful on the highway. I guess if you don't run side mirrors it's a great option.

I don't know that I'd get one for my next car, though mostly for aesthetics...but also because I've never felt like I had blind spots when driving Orange. There are no A, B, or C pillars to create blind spots!

Once you get used to the distortion or learn to tilt your head a certain way, the Mirror for Seven is really good stuff. Highly recommended.

The only problem I have with the Mirrors for Sevens is backing up. I cannot tell where my rear fenders are in relation to the shop door.

Yeah, I know, don't back into the shop. :D

I quite like the MFS mirror, allowed me to get rid of the giant rearview mirror that blocked 50% of the windscreen. Works especially well in addition to the wing mirrors.

The only issue I had was in a traffic jam at night on the freeway, in CA motorcycles are allowed to lane split, I nearly hit a guy after I changed lanes and couldn't tell the bike from the sea of headlights that is exacerbated by the mirror. Minor complaint though and I learned my lesson.

Can some folks post pictures of their cars with the MFS mirror installed?

There are some shots on the MFS site, but I'd like to see some more angles to see how it integrates into the overall look of the cockpit.

Thanks

Here's a view from the rear. It is difficult to actually see it because it is not much taller than the windscreen frame. I have since removed the original center rear view mirror. I left it on the car while I got used to the Mirrors For Sevens.

It takes a little getting used to but now it is the only mirror on the car. Highly recommended.

thanks - there are lots of great pics on your link, so I have a very good perspective. Thanks SCANNON. Now I just have to put in an order. I think I'm going to remove all the other mirrors on the car assuming I'm comfortable with the blind spot coverage

I have the MFS mirror plus the SPA convex mirrors. They just about eliminates all of the blind spots. The MFS has very low profile offering an unobstructed view. It also blends in nicely with the black pack.

How do the Spa Convex mirrors attach to the stanchions?

Do you have to drill holes in the stanchion?

Twobone,

I'd suggest leaving the other mirrors on for awhile, it takes a little time to adjust to the new mirror.

Those convex SPA mirrors are intriguing. It is exactly what I'd like to put on my Birkin. Has anyone installed them on a Birkin yet? I dont like the idea of drilling holes in the scuttle (cowl). Seems they could be adapted to fit the normal mounting point on the windshield bracket, even if one had to do a little bit of welding.

I installed a couple of the SPA GT mirrors on my Birkin. You can check out this thread for more details (sorry for the lousy photos): http://www.usa7s.com/vb/showthread.php?t=2970&highlight=MIRROR&page=2

Or like pksurveyor mentioned, you could make up a simple plate to mount them like this: http://www.sevenselans.com/partsforsale.htm

Maybe I'm a cheapskate but I find the mirrorsforsevens a little pricey even though I am sure it is a good product. I need a good clip-on type. My center rear-view mirror rests on the dash. Anyone using anything else? There's lots of panoramic clip-ons out there but wondering if anyone has one they like.

I have the Mirrorforsevens mirror and I love it. Just make sure your window frame is 1/2" thick. It ONLY fits 1/2" thick frames. I had to cut the heck out of my frame to get it to fit. Russ
