scannon Posted November 13, 2015 Posted November 13, 2015 See if you can guess what engine is in it from the sound as it certainly doesn't sound like a Model A engine.
mrmustang Posted November 13, 2015 Posted November 13, 2015 See if you can guess what engine is in it from the sound as it certainly doesn't sound like a Model A engine. Sped up film, bad over dubbing, I'm surprised you did not save this one for April Fools Day
scannon Posted November 14, 2015 Author Posted November 14, 2015 You don't believe that is a Cosworth BDA? Note the timing belt on the front of the engine. Not found on a OEM Model A. Clever arrangement to conceal the fact that the top of the cam cover is not the top of a cast iron Ford flathead. Individual throttle bodies, not found on OEM Model A engines.
xcarguy Posted November 14, 2015 Posted November 14, 2015 It's powered by a 122ci aluminum Cosworth BDA http://www.hotrod.com/cars/featured/hrdp-0803w-1929-model-a-touring-car/
mrmustang Posted November 14, 2015 Posted November 14, 2015 Guess I stand corrected, still something about the driving scenes that screams artificial manipulation.
xcarguy Posted November 14, 2015 Posted November 14, 2015 Guess I stand corrected, still something about the driving scenes that screams artificial manipulation. The reluctance is understandable…a Cosworth BDA in a Model A Ford is just wrong on so many levels. :jester:
locost7018 Posted November 14, 2015 Posted November 14, 2015 This is how the car was built - enjoy! 1929 Ford Model-A - MAT
locost7018 Posted November 14, 2015 Posted November 14, 2015 OOPS try this http://www.mat.fi/projects/68
powderbrake Posted November 15, 2015 Posted November 15, 2015 Sounds good, but lacks that tinny, hollow sound of a real Model A. My first car was a 1928 Model A Coupe. I had a buddy who also liked Model A's, and he built a dragster with a model A engine with a Funk overhead cam conversion. Fast, but nowhere near as fast as a BDA.
MudHut Posted November 27, 2015 Posted November 27, 2015 i think it's great that it was built to be not only a sleeper, but deceptively as far as sound and visually. a lot of time was put into that machine.
