Two cool Cats

My Caterham met one of its cousins yesterday. I had a chance to drive it briefly. The RHD was irrelevant. The car is so narrow that it just wasn't a problem. I also started to get the hang of shifting with my left hand. Since I am left handed maybe it was a bit easier? But, I'd need a bunch of more miles before I was "programed" to shift without thinking.

I loved the SV size. And the graphics show much better in person than in the photos. Every Caterham is the start of an informal parade (or a circus) and this one is really an attention getter: so many smiles, everywhere. It drove nicely, and was well preserved, really a gem (IMHO).

Michael:You would think with 4 complete sets of Caterham, wheels, I could manage to field 4 that matched! But for complex reasons having to do with $, for the time being I am using my mismatched 15" on the back and 13" on the front. Every year I say I will spend the $ to get the tires that work on my 3 sets of 13", or buy 2 15" wheels that match the front, and every year I have catastrophic mechanical issues that use up all my $$$ (this last 6 months costs included an engine rebuild and new fueling system). So, maybe next year???

In the meantime, here is my car sporting fancy wheels, that were kindly lent to me at NJMP by Karl. Maybe I can persuade Tom (Yellow SS), who now owns Karl's car, to take pity on me and at least loan me his extra wheels for pixtures at NJMP this year:)!

Not a good idea, Mike, right now I have all the wheels and tires spread out all around the house and garage. If I brought them all to the NJMP event, then my wife would see all of them in one place. She already thinks I have too many and she probably hasn't seen half of them. I have three sets of wheels for the Yellow car and Three for the Orange car. Plus tires that Karl gave me with the purchase and the dozen Hoosiers I bought last year. Two caterhams, spare bonnets, windscreen, I'm out of control. :willy_nilly:

I can lend a set of 16 inch wagon wheels! :svengo:

Or maybe the 12 inch wide BBS wheels in gold with Avon slicks for the Beemer.

Or some 10 inch wide Corvette Grand Sport wheels from the Holden?
