Three series 2 sevens sold this week, one (Texas)in bare frame for $5K, another in California modded and restored with crossflow $22.5K and an original restored with crossflow $25.5K New Jersey-all real not replica LOTUS.

The 79 Caterham/DSK went for $20K

theres a CSR260 in ebay for 30K and 2 pushrod dedions on this list for 30K.

I recall a change in Dedion frame design at some time-more universal for LHD/RHD-does anyone recall that change over year-trying to think out the differences in the offered 1996 and the 2000, Also in these vintage Caterhams- am I to expect cast iron calipers and hub assemblies, same about transmission gear ratios-would a Caterham always have a close ratio gearset-or standard Sierra/ford, and lastly would LSD be standard?

Well thats the state of the market at the moment, I am still looking

As a data point, my 2004 (build date of 12/03) Roadsport SV has the aluminum hubs with cast iron calipers. It had an open differential to which I added a Quaiffe LSD.

It also has an updated deDion tube with reinforcements to prevent the attachment points from separating from the tube.

I do not know the change over dates for any of this.

I can't speak to engines or transmissions as I put in a turbocharged Miata engine and transmission. It came set up for the Zetec engine and T-9 transmission.

You can have mine for $35k. :)

Skip,

I think Kevin has had enough Miata drivetrains since selling me his two 91 BRG's

Besides, he likes BRG, and yours is more a cross between Grabber and Mariner Blue :smilielol5:

Bill, The 2 miatas turned into 1 miata, a 08GT with automatic-feels kinda numb-I like the seat heater.

In the long run-having a real lotus lotus is best-I would love a 50K series 1 7 with climax and dedion.

There is something to have been created, during racings off seasons that kept lotus afloat-having been designed by a young man-in the end will be valued from that perspective.

The early 7s have that value

The first 1.8 Miata I saw was a pre-production car in that color, didn't like the color then, still don't.

36? Gee you are a slow learner. Why don't you give up and just buy the Dodge Caravan minivan? It will solve all your problems. Go on...you know you want it....

Don't feel bad for Skip, I am getting my 95M ready for sale, it is my 53rd documented Miata since 1990

As for Laguna Blue, I've owned 10% of the "R" production of them, a few standard black interior ones, and four tan interior ones. Laguna Blue is my favorite :D

Values on sevens? Well that depends on one's point of view. If you are buying a seven, They are all a POS and not worth a dime. If you are selling one, They are as good as gold.

Eventually the frame is organic-tube rust different metals cracks and repairs-and as an investment-the foundation is suspect-and there are duplicate VIN numbers out there. If you were buying an AC Cobra-same issues-so the continuation cars are in competition with the originals. In Cobra world this makes for a big spread in values, In lotus 7 world the originals are very close to the valuation of all the other things that look like a Lotus 7.

So what I would like is a S1 7 climax and dedion-Mike Brotherhood had one but it was a replica and the Lotus Register won't tell you who owns them-
