rrdusek Posted October 19, 2016 Posted October 19, 2016 I'm looking to buy a car soon, and would like to hear from any owners in the Las Vegas area, or near-by. I would like to look over some cars in person and possibly sit in one to make sure I fit ok. I am also very happy to hear any advice others have to offer. Thank you, in advance. -Rick 702-2418066
kayentaut Posted October 20, 2016 Posted October 20, 2016 Rick, I live near St George, so about 120 miles from you. My car is currently in CA at Rich Kamp's facility for some suspension work. I plan to drive my car (Caterham S'light) home, so thru Vegas. You are welcome to stay in touch regarding my schedule in case it works for you. Jim
rrdusek Posted October 20, 2016 Author Posted October 20, 2016 absolutely! i'll even buy you lunch, or dinner. please give me time to make time a few days before. thank you kayentaut.
speedwagon Posted October 20, 2016 Posted October 20, 2016 Rick; I live near Golden Valley, AZ. Am about 90 miles from LV 4 miles off hwy 93. the car is a Superformance S1 which is a little more generous with space than most 7s. It is up on a dolly getting an engine transplant and not running but we could easily vacuum out the interior for a seating. john 970-640-4804
rrdusek Posted October 20, 2016 Author Posted October 20, 2016 that's very nice of you to offer, speedwagon, thank you. I would enjoy a day driving out to see you. I might come out in the future.
Driven Posted October 20, 2016 Posted October 20, 2016 I'm in Vegas, also have a Superformance S1. We bring it to Cars and Coffee usually. Or if you're free this Sunday, there's a group of car types (mostly S2000s) meeting up for a BBQ at Desert Bloom Park at noon. We'll have the S1 out, more than welcome to swing by and sit in it.

rrdusek Posted October 24, 2016 Author Posted October 24, 2016 is there anyone in the Los Angeles area, or someone near Las Vegas, with a Birkin that I could sit in to try on for size? I have concerns about the pedals and need to make sure before I buy, and will happily drive out there to be certain. any advice would be greatly appreciated. thank you -rick
breezy7 Posted October 25, 2016 Posted October 25, 2016 is there anyone in the Los Angeles area, You might try asking at the CA. Caterham site:http://californiacaterhamclub.com/chat/index.php
rrdusek Posted October 27, 2016 Author Posted October 27, 2016 so, I am slowly learning and understanding this. would anyone else like to offer any advice (would be greatly appreciated) or opinions about the closeness of pedals and me fitting my size 11 1/2 feet? thanks in advance.
yellowss7 Posted October 27, 2016 Posted October 27, 2016 I have an S3 and an SV caterham and size 11 shoe. Racing boots/shoes are required to be able to get all three pedals in the S3. In the SV I can use regular shoes. The S3 footbox is very tight with no extra space. Without racing boots, I can only get the clutch and gas pedals, not the brake. I like the fit of the S3 but there is little/no wiggle room for feet or butt. The Sumo Version (SV) has plenty of room for both. Tom
coffee break Posted October 28, 2016 Posted October 28, 2016 I can manage in my S3 with size 10s but driving shoes make things easier.
Alfonse Posted October 28, 2016 Posted October 28, 2016 (edited) I have a Birkin S3, size 11 1/2s. It works with driving shoes. Edited October 29, 2016 by Alfonse
JohnCh Posted October 29, 2016 Posted October 29, 2016 I also wear 11-1/2 and found out the hard way that I cannot drive a Caterham S3 without driving shoes. With driving shoes, or their equivalent, not a problem. -John
rrdusek Posted October 29, 2016 Author Posted October 29, 2016 thank you everyone. I have bought some wrestling shoes to start with, per some of your advice. at least that's a start.
