Garage Floor Finishes?

The new house we moving into has a 13" drop in the garage floor! My only requirement before buying the house was "we must fix the garage floor", well next Monday the old floor gets jack hammered out and a new level floor installed. So I am planning on taking the opportunity to get the floor coated with something. So what is everyone's experiences. I like the finish Mike has in his NJMP garage.

The floor is great. Easy to clean up. Very durable except when a 65 Mustang on jack stand rollers decides to lock a rolling wheel (scrape....)

 

My mistake was to get a uniform light color. It shows the dirt like nothing else. Oil from the aforementioned 65 Mustang, 2008 orange Caterhams, 2004 maroon zetecs, Locosts with Hand engines, etc tends to stain the floor and vigorous use of thinners is required to clean. I should have chosen one of the darker variegated finishes. I now use a Hoover wash and vac cleaner with cleaning fluid and thinners in it to clean things up - works well. Interim cleaning is covered my my two trusty roombas!

Talking to a couple of local shops you have to wait for the concrete to cure for 60-90 days, I did not know that not it makes sense. So it looks like the new floor will be a spring project.

When they put the floor in make sure it is strong enough to put a nice two post floor lift in!!!!!!

Before moving into our current house, I had the garage floor coated with epoxy using kits from Home Depot. At the time, the kits were about $120 each. We used 3 kits for a 2-car garage that has a "step" at the back wall. We are the first occupants but the guy applying it cleaned the floor with (muriatic?) acid anyway, just in case the builders left something on it. It has held up well over the last 6 years. It doesn't hold dust like the usual concrete floors.
