panamericano Posted December 11, 2020 Posted December 11, 2020 Walter Cronkite narrates about sports car and racing. Couple shots of Moss at Monaco in Lotus 18. https://thedrive.us11.list-manage.com/track/click?u=228bd4d5416080e946054be51&id=6f2decc4dc&e=3191b22b7b
Croc Posted December 12, 2020 Posted December 12, 2020 Thats a great find - enjoyed watching that. I was lucky enough to see a Lotus 18 in a workshop this week. Sadly I am too big to get into it but I happily drooled all over it. Walter Cronkite looks like he is a surprisingly good driver - never heard of that side of him.
scannon Posted December 12, 2020 Posted December 12, 2020 Great article and video, thanks for posting it.
coffee break Posted December 12, 2020 Posted December 12, 2020 Having worked corners at Sebring since '86 and now watching from the other side of the fence, I've known that he race there in the good old days when the course was marked by peach baskets.

Peach baskets. I love it. Probably weighted with rocks, but just imagine if they were brimming with peachs? Smacking one would be a sight worth seeing. That would be betterrent than John Fitch's plastic water barrels.
