Harness Recommendations

I'm likely going to sell my 2013 SV in the spring and want to replace the belts/harnesses before doing so, I'd appreciate recommendations that ideally aren't crazy costly. The car currently has a Racequip five point harness for the driver, I think likely 4" belts and basic inertia belt for the passenger.

Camlock vs Latch? Any suggestions that are easily sourced in the US (Summit?) that people would recommend?

6 point? 5? 4? Drivers seat has a hole cut for a single belt so maybe 4 point for both or a 5 for the driver and 4 for the passenger (I don't really want to cut the passenger seat).

Schroth has a Caterham specific belt that utilizes their anti-sub tech.

Whatever you do, don't let cost drive the safety train.

While I agree on safety I think there's also a cost / convenience / purpose perspective, for road use / touring don't you think many people would be happier with a simpler harness? I haven't been a huge fan of the 3" five point on the road, no question as to the importance of high end belts for track use - if that's what someone chooses to do with the car.

I installed schroth flexi 6- point last year and like it for the driver (me). I appreciate the narrower webbing and adjusters better then my previous RJS harness. However the schroth is more expensive.

Unless the belts are very worn it may not be terrible considering allowing the buyer to install what they prefer? {in-date 6point for track use, inertia reel or 4point ASM belts for street driving}?

- having said that: I for one appreciate the extra safety & security of a 5 or 6 point harness even if just blatting about on public highways. The Extra time and inconvenience getting into the car is well worth the added safety.

I firmly believe that you need some anti-submarining protection in a Caterham. A standard 3 point seat belt has no such protection, nor does a 4 point harness. A 5 point harness can seriously hurt your private parts, so I went with a 6 point harness.

I am in the middle of replacing the aged out 5 point latches on my Stalker. I wanted to shift to 6 point (and wanted to go with the Schroth) but the problem of how to relocate lower mounting points has caused me to give up and return to a 5 point - and also the found the Racequip camlock.

is the difference between the latch and camlock one of convenience in unfastening or is a camlock also considered to be safer for rapid egress?

For me it was all about personal preference. I did some internet research on relative safety merits to make sure one was not materially safer than the other, but reached no conclusions either way on that front. Seemed to me like opinions were split
