I discovered a leak in my fuel hose while going over spring checkup today! Has anyone else experienced this before or have thoughts as to causes.

take care and be safe out there everyone.

I assume FI, so the  hose is under pressure.  Is it old?  When I had my high pressure hoses made with fittings, I found that a couple places did not do material that can stand up to gasoline.  I suspect someone made hoses of the wrong material.  Mind you, the ones I replaced were 25 years old and NOT leaking.

Integral braiding hides potential problems, hose specifications and is not needed unless there is something that could wear on the hose outer.

Fuel composition varies by brand, grade, season, and the station tank condition along with ethanol content despite the percentage shown on the pump. Any ethanol is tougher on rubber, which is why most modern lines are bare nylon or rubber with a nylon liner.

For common EFI supply or return where the fuel pressure is always well under 100psi, I suggest SAE 30R9. Better yet would be low permeation SAE 30R12 hose with an elastomeric liner, good to 145psi but very expensive. Any "rubber" hose should be kept to a minimum with adequate slack for stress relief.

R11 is for low permeation vent and vapor use but low pressure (R6,7,8) fuel line is often used.

None of these should be used inside a fuel tank. Only use SAE 30R10 for that as the others will swell, leak and fall apart to clog the pump because the outer is not made to be submerged.

Split or spiral vinyl loom provides abrasion protection if needed and is easily removed for inspection.

My vote is with @panamericano  I have had this happen to me on one of my cars.  Supposedly fuel rated braided hose but it was not.
