Saudio
Would anyone here know how far the windshield glass extends into the frame around it? Talking 2020 model 620SV. I have found a set of sun visors I like but it would involve drilling into the windshield frame, and I'm trying to figure how much room I have before I hit the edge of the glass. The drilling would be back to front, not top down. Thanks!
MV8
The lower edge of the rivet holding the top snap on the front of the frame clears the glass.

MV8
When I say lower edge of the rivet, I'm talking about the shank, not the edge of the head. I would not drill any lower than the center and maybe higher depending on the diameter of the hole needed.

Lotusfan
I’m curious, can you post where the sun visors are from?

Lotusfan
Thanks! After you get them mounted, posting pics of how it works out would be really helpful and appreciated. Interestingly, my car has some holes drilled in the windscreen probably from having something like this mounted in the past. The guy I bought the car from bought the windscreen from someone and didn’t know any details.
Lotusfan
Here’s another thought…Perhaps just buy the hardware and then get some plexiglas and you can do whatever shape, size and hardware position works best on the car. Thinking shaped for a windscreen mounted mirror or differently for a scuttle mounted mirror. Also gets rid of the Cobra embossing.
Cueball1
Etsy to the rescue! Maybe these would work? This seller has different styles available too if these aren't quite right. https://www.etsy.com/listing/1406209289/tinted-sun-visor-screens-for-classic Seller has sunvisors, wind wings and custom toggle switch name tags. Of course they are in the UK. Probably popular bits and bobs there. https://www.etsy.com/shop/ClassicGentShop?ref=l2-about-shopname&page=3#items Edited August 17, 2023 by Cueball1
Saudio
Thanks Cueball! Still ruminating about what the best solution is before I drill a hole that I can't undrill. ;-)
toldfield
Rosen makes great visors for aircraft, boats, and trucks. They have a small visor for a Mini or similar cars. The mount for the Mini visor wouldn't work for a Seven but I wonder if they would cobble something up for such a small market. https://www.rosenvisor.com/ tom
Dave W
I found a good supplier for sun visor plastic, “Pop Display” in South Bend, IN. 46614. They can provide material that is excellent for making a see-thru visors. Light Green Acrylic Plexiglas sheet that is 1/8” x 48” x 7 7/8”. Pop Display P/N 2092 for $14.50 plus shipping cost. They will also cut it in half for shipping at no cost. Their phone number is 574-233-1934 or you can contact them at www.go2pop.com . The Plexiglas comes covered on both side which helps prevent scratches while fabricating the visor. When fabricating the visor used the full 7 7/8" width, the short add-on clip type visor, is way to short, to be effective in a Seven. Also with the visor angled upward it helps direct the air over the cabin area.

There are other suppliers of the Cobra type visors.
