Hey, car is about to be ready for the spring but I do have an exhaust leak. As you can see from the pictures and the black marks it's leaking where it connects. Is there any better way to seal this at all. I stink after just a short drive.

There're wider clamps available online (Summit or Jegs) and even "stepped" ones to help deal with a diameter change. I also use Wurth exhaust sealer. It's a white paste that helps the pipes slip together easier and helps seal the joint. It firms up with the increase in exhaust temperature.

There is not enough overlap to cover the end of the slot under the clamp. Loosen all the clamps to where you can push-pull the collector end back and forth on the primaries, then push hard and tighten one clamp , then the rest. That may be enough. Can't see how bad it is with the clamps covering the end of the slot. You might bend the skin at the rear to get a little more engagement. Look at the area under the clamp first to get an idea.

If it isn't enough, you can take the primaries off, have them cut off a 1/2 inch inboard from the secondary overlap (so the weld won't interfere with the secondary tube), then weld extensions on all four that are a 1/2 inch longer than what is cut off.

Another, easier alternative is to take the secondary off, weld the end of the slots, then use a porting bit (carbide rotary file) in a drill to rotary file the area flat inside and out.

Bought some of the exhaust seal that was mentioned and will take off the clamps and see if I can find some that are wider. Will update soon, spring is around the corner.

Thank you!
