Jbanker.

I expect to partake of some of the LOG 28 events. Definitely Putnam. I did it with them last year following the US GP. I mite try the auto-x, which I have never done in my 7, tho many times in other cars in years long since passed.

Anyone else?

Will this be a semi-official Midwest Sevens gathering? We already have a Stalker and a Caterham. My impression is that the organizer, Young Kim, is right up there with Al Navarro when it comes to putting on an event!

Lose valuable document flying out of the car due to the wind turbulence.

Rob

I haven't done that in the Rotus yet, but was driving the vette with top down a couple years ago, coming up to toll plaza... opened my wallet to get a one out, and a $20 flew out. Talk about a waste

Ah, this is fun.... let's see...

My list:

Drove seven in the rain with no top (check) yup

Drove seven in the snow, no top, no heater (check) yup, but only for about 100 feet between garages

Drove seven on a day when the temp was below 0 F, no top, no heater (check) not quite. Best I've managed is ~20

Spun the car at an autocross (check)

Survived my wife driving my seven (check)

Used Seven to Tow home friends broken Cobra (check)

Blown coolant hose (check)

Lost fan belt while driving (check)

Have to fix plugged fuel filter in the middle of nowhere (check)

Blown engine (check)

Replaced with more powerful engine (check)

Towed home from a blat.... (check) Understatement. Shipped car from Indy to Ann Arbor after collecting Bambi on I-69

Pumped 4 quarts of oil on floor before discovering oil filter missing (check)

Used removable tip screwdriver to feel for top dead center. Tip falls off. Take engine apart to retrieve tip. (check)

EDIT: Hood not latched and started to come off, luckily I stopped in time (almost a check)

In addition, I can add the following:

Coasted into driveway when voltage regulator gave up the ghost at the very end of a blat. (check)

Spend an hour freaking out because the washer you've dropped near the Weber trumpets cannot be found and must have gone into the engine only to find upon a trip to the bathroom that it's managed to get stuck to the little magnet on your glasses for the sun-glasses insert. (check)

My Super stalker fram is complete and I get to go see it next Thursday. Can not wait.

Hey Glenn,

Does that mean you are going to bring it back with you or are you going to have Dennis and Justin ship it? Either way it is a great Christmas present!!

I am also in the noobie group, having ordered a WCM XR7 and having paid for half of it so far (payments as the build progresses). Wondering how I'm going to get it from Lancaster, TX to Princeton NJ in March. Maybe, if I get dealer plates from Brian, driving it from Texas to NJ, (no heater, no radio, no top, windshield and wipers fo NJ registration, weather gear consisting of a drain plug in the cockpit floor, and my ski clothes), will qualify me for Lower Intermediate status. Have already signed up for track days at Pocono and LRP with NASA-NE, and two dates in May at Summit Point witth NASA-MA (will take the track-veteran Subie if WCM not yet in hand), so will likely have the opportunity to spin it at the track, possibly qualifying me for Advanced Intermediate.

Hi Jack,

The scheduled pick up date is around 1-20, so I am not bringing it home yet. Just taking advantage of the time in Florida to go meet Dennis and the guys. I am buying an L32 engine Dennis has got, so I can check that off the list. I have read or watched all the stuff Dennis sent at least three times and had to stop, too much anticipation:crazy:. Gonna weld up my build table when I get back, and make room in the garage. Santa should deliver my Clecos, headlights, and maybe even some disc brake parts. If I remember I'll grab my camera and post a few photos.

And to my fellow newbies.....I graduated to member on Friday!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Shotgun,

That drive should earn more than intermediate status. But as you can tell from reading above these guys are hard core and figure a drive like that is all part of the initiation into the ranks.

A drive like that with a brand new car should qualify you for the "Most Massive Brass Cojones" title. It's 1500 miles from Lancaster to Princeton.... in March....through the Smokies...no weather protection...maybe you should get the "masochist of the year" award.

In any event, congrats on the New XR7. I am sure you will love it.
