powderbrake
Interesting. I looked at the pdf, supplied by the used Caterham dealer. The article assumes you know where Kelowna is. I had to look it up in Streets & Trips. It's about 200 miles NE of Vancouver, BC, so a little to far from St. Louis to check it out. The dealers website lists caterhams from $58,000 to $90,000. He is REALLY proud of them. Of course the real deal costs a bit more, but I can think of lots of things I might want for $90,000. That's $71,250 and $91,600 USD now that the Loonie is worth more than the dollar.
BusaLoco
This should be a blast! ... Here's the official Website and application forms! Maybe I should bring my Hayabusa powered replica.

Everyboby in Canada knows where Kelowna is; be a bit like explaining where NY City is to an American. Its on the east coast, I think..........?:banghead:

It's about 200 miles NE of Vancouver, BC If you had come with us on PNW2007, then you would already have known where it is located As I recall, it featured a vile traffic jam (I moved about 0.5 mile in 45 minutes) but fortunately we found a really nice restaurant with a great wine list -John

I do know where New York City is, ( population 8 million), but everyone in the US doesn't know the location of every little town in the US, particularly if the state (province) is not mentioned. Everyone in Canada may be familiar with Kelowa, But I had simply had never heard of Kelowa, and the newsletter gave no hint to the location, so I looked it up, thinking it might be an interesting trip if it were closer to my home. :_deadhorse:

SkinnyG
Now hang on, that's a really crappy picture of Kelowna, and more specifically of Westbank, not Kelowna itself. I had my Locost in the Knox Mountain Hillclimb car show last year (and apparently placed third ). For a short while mine was placed beside the Super7cars demos, but then they moved elsewhere..... (tee hee). Perhaps the newsletter was geared for more of a "West Coast" appeal. Kelowna is roughly two hours drive north of the border in British Columbia. Kind of right in between the Pacific Ocean and Alberta. It's about 4 hours drive from Vancouver BC. Probably another 17 hours drive to Alaska. You're welcome to stop by for a visit - I live in Kelowna, eh?! By May long weekend, it'll be around 30 to 35°C, with possible sprinkles of rain. http://www.bestofkelownabc.com/AirPhotoBridgeInForeground.jpg http://www.donnaeaston.com/images/kelowna.jpg

Nope, never heard of Spirit Island either, but that pic and the others show that it is a beautiful location. I hope to see it in person one day. I hope to see it in person one day. Maligne Lake is the most picturesque spot in the Canadian Rockies, it's located 48 km southeast of the townsite of Jasper at the end of the Maligne Road. Spitit Island is 40 km up that lake. It is the most published photograph of Canada. BC “rocks". :7drive: http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/741939729_PA081036.jpg
SkinnyG
Got an email back from the organizers - clones and replicas are welcome to join them on the drive around the countryside, attend the barbeque, and hang out. Not allowed to park in the same area as the "True" 7's. Not sure if we can also parade the hill - I'll check. G

G You know that if all the clones and replicas in Canada showed up at their meet along with some of the closer folks from the upper parts of the USA their would be way more 7 type cars than all of the originals in Canada. Sounds like they are kinda stuffy and besides theu are cars that we are all pasionate about so why would they limit their slection of entries.....dose not make sence to me. SkinnyG
So, there was basically me in my Locost. One of www.super7cars.com 's Caterhams came up Saturday afternoon and was in the car show, but wasn't there Sunday. A fairly ratty S2 drove through the pits and parked at David Seville-Peck's area, but wasn't in the show. So...... Although I didn't parade up the hill, I did have a rectal rocket Smokie, and I did drive a wack of back roads between the hill and my house both days. Not all bad. Not an incredibly impressive turnout. Maybe next year.... Then again, it was the All-British meet at Van Dusen Gardens in Vancouver the same weekend. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/0903/skinnyg/Locost2008022.jpg G
