Two things I've noticed about the motor...it's one of the coveted "metal top" zetecs (my old car had the black plastic cam cover) AND...it doesn't use the Raceline Water Rail, unlike many other Birkins I've seen. I think this has to do with some change Birkin made that didn't allow for the stock Ford thermostat body to fit on the back of the engine in the transverse installation.

Nice looking Birkin! :)

That thermostat hsg and aluminum spacer is the same set-up I had on my Birkin before I put the Raceline water rail on it. You can see where the owner has tie-wrapped some protective material to the outlet hose which was right up against the frame on my installation. I also have the "metal top" ZX1 motor in mine.

If somebody from CT buys it, I can help you get through the DMV inspection without any problem. I have the bumpers/brackets/DOT approved lights/etc that you need to pass. And there is no emissions inspection so those Webers can stay!! :)

And if anybody from another state needs "Birkin" bumpers, you're more than welcome to borrow them. They're hideous looking, but they work...

I bought my Caterham from a NJ seller at this time last year. Got temporary plates from NJ BMV, no hassle, no fuss & drove it home to Ohio. Needed to show them I had insurance on the vehicle. My ins co (State Farm) issued ins policy in advance even tho I didn't yet own the car & I took proof w/me. Also need title transfer form. Did my research on the Internet & all was well. Hardest part was finding the BMV-located in "Westfield" NJ ,btw.
