I have signed up, including the auto-x, wh/I have never done in my se7en, and the track day, which I have.

A recent trip to Delaware in my Prius showed that I-68 thru Maryland is a wonderfully scenic, hilly, and empty way east from Ohio, with little to no truck traffic and thus perfect for a se7en. Also many scenic and little-used roads from Cincy to I-68, so the trip to LOG 30 and back should be a big part of the fun.

The Se7en is probably the best auto-x car that is also street-able. I've only done 5 autocross runs in my Se7en but did well considering the engine and tires. It was great being able to see the tire placement in relationship to the cones. I will be running the auto-x this time around. Because this auto-x is being design by a Lotus guy for Lotus should make it especially fun.

The drivers education event is being headed up by a Esprit owner who is a professional driving instructor at Summit Point. He is a good guy so this should be an exceptional event.

Shamefully I haven't sent in my registration yet but I will do so today.

I know that there are a bunch of Lotus folks in the Cincinnati area. A group trip on back roads would be fantastic.

Was trying to get a guy to bring his set of scales. Unfortunately talking with him today he was complaining that they are broken and it will cost $500 to repair (sounds a bit steep to me). I will keep working on him (he is not a Se7en owner but he wants to build one).

Does anyone have a set of scales they would be willing to bring to LOG?

For those who are attending the trackday, are u staying In Gettysburg till monday morning and driving to teh track, or moving accomodations closer to Summit Point?

I'm debating the length of stay, get there thursday night (have our USA7s drive on friday?), Check out from gettysburg on sunday before the autoX, or staying thru tuesday morning?

I'd like some input from other planned attendees of LOG 30.

Also, Earlybird registration ends soon. postmarked forms by July 1st!

Looking at the agenda for Log 30, I noticed that there is a drivers meeting PRIOR to dinner on Sunday evening at the hotel in Gettysburg. The track is listed as about an Hour and a half from the hotel.

Question for those doing the track day and planning on staying near the track in Winchester Sunday night, are you planning on doing the buffet dinner after the drivers meeting or just getting on the road to Winchester?

Looking at the listing for the hotel, it looks like it's in walking distance of Cracker Barrel and Texas Steakhouse restaurants. I think I'm just going to hit the drivers meeting and get on the road and do Dinner near the hotel.

Anyone else care to share their plans?

What I want to know regarding the driver's meeting and trackday is the schedule of the trackday. when is (IF, this is LOG....) Tech, when are the run groups start.

I'm prepared to leave the hotel in a caravan to to the track the same way that 7-7-07 had the caravan to the autoX in Maryville if we're checking out ~7AM.

Otherwise, it makes sense to be closer to teh track to be on premises @ 7:45. I'll probably head home after the event. But it would make me more inclined to be around early friday for some USA7s stuff.

Jon, Last year, there was a tech sheet that you had to have your mechanic sign off on, I don't remember an actual tech inspection at the track. You turned the form in at registration. Again last year, at the Sunday evening drivers meeting, Run groups were assigned, winscreen stickers handed out and Helmets were checked for SA 2000 or newer compliance. At the track on that monday, there was a brief meeting and then the three run groups were staged.

I also recall them requiring arm restraints for you and your instructor.

I recommed finding a couple of good Summit point track day videos on YouTube and watch them until your eyes bleed, and you can visualize and memorize the track. Maybe Michael D has a few good ones posted up.

I still plan on spending the night closer to the track. Just have to decide on the Travellodge recommended on the LOG Site or the HI express that Michael pointed out. The Travellodge supposedly has good trailer parking which is a factor for me.

Some folks have been having problems with making reservations at the Eisenhower Hotel and Conference Center, the LOG hotel. The LOG chair, Chris, sent me the following instructions to post on this forum.

On the hotel's main page http://www.eisenhower.com select "Check availability and make reservation online"

On the next page please select "Groups"

You will be prompted for a group id and password

Group id: 5468

Password: 37002237

You can now make a reservation for the LOG event.
