Boxologist
from the other sub-forum "Well I think I am going to sell my 7 Replica as I have just driven a New Porsche Cayman and I really like it a whole lot. I know what am I thinking but it is the only way that my wife will let me acquire one and besides I would need to make room in the garage for a new Porsche 986c and I do not have the room for a lift in my garage. Now my problem is should buy a new Cayman now or should I wait to buy it after finding a new owner for my 7 that I like a whole lot. My wife has always been ok with the 7 but from what I know and see she seems very apprehensive when in the 7 mainly due to its size I feel and that it does not have a top. So if anyone is interested I will consider parting ways with my hand built replica 7 that is licensed and titled in the State of California as a 1963 Lotus Seven without any restrictions. If you want to see some of the photos I have of the build and the car follow this link http://picasaweb.google.com/MHKflyer52/ALotus7Replica# If you’re interested or know of someone that might be interested let me know as the more I think about it the more I am leaning to sell my 7 so make me an offer. Contact me at MHKflyer52 at g mail dot com or by PM on this site or by posting on this site." Martin- i'm posteriquoting here so Martin's FS thread doen't get mucked up. NO. Is there anything else in the fleet that can go bye-bye in lieu of the se7en? can u find room for a lift? will SWMBO be able to drive the Cayman? will you be leaving the drop top set, is ingress/egress become a problem? I'll admit I like the cayman S alot. Even more if the engine was not so detuned. But i never will confused the smiles per mile factor of the 7 vs any Porsche outside of an overbuilt 914-6 racecar. think a 3.0 or carrera S engine in the back. MHKflyer52
Yep I was there and Jon even let me run over some cones with his 7 and he had just meet me only 5 min's before that.....I was floored that he would let me run his car without knowing me at all and Jon was quite nervous at first but on the second run Jon jumped into the passenger seat and keep yelling GO FASTER GO FASTER and pointing and waving as he kept yelling GO FASTER GO FASTER. PS: I should be back East in early October into the Philadelphia area, just started to plan a quick visit to see family.

JohnCh
Martin, I understand the draw of a Porsche, but I still think you’re nuts Given the economy, I would sell the se7en first. Toys are harder to move these days, so it might take a while to get your price. Caymans, however, are pretty plentiful and the prices seem to still be coming down, so you can probably find the car you want pretty quickly. -John
