11Budlite
Nicely done, but it looks like it has a few too many Caterham/Birkin parts for me. Pretty optimistic Buy-It-Now as well. No affiliation, etc: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1965-Lotus-Seven-7-Series-2-not-Caterham_W0QQitemZ260495868124QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUS_Cars_Trucks?hash=item3ca6c380dc
Croc
It almost looks like he restored the Series 2 up to Series 3 spec. For example, the wheels and tires are much later than Series 2. Very nicely done. The buy it now price of $50k is eye opening. I have inspected a very nice restored Series 2 for sale with only slightly less spec for $33k (but with some desirable modifications for fuel tank, cooling, etc) from a classic car dealer in Hopewell NJ. Not sure if I can explain the big gap in price other than the Hopewell car has been used for historical racing.
Ian7
I guess it's "to each their own". For me, $50k should buy a much higher spec Caterham, or a much-closer-to-original Series 2 Lotus, not a medium blend of both. :-)
athens7
It's a pretty car, but at the price the lack of provenance is disconcerting. A serial number from another car because the correct one was "lost during restoration"? What, did it wander off?:willy_nilly:

11Budlite
I agree with the comments above. But I do give the guy credit for being upfront about the s/n....I've seen a lot worse!
kennyrayandersen
Now where was the s/n – it was here just a minute ago! Lol Up front or not, it still has the scent of squirrel. At $50K, it should be scentless.
