focusinprogress
I'm in the process of building the frame for my 7 from scratch, and cannot seem to track down any websites to purchase body work for it. Can anyone point me in the right direction or have any parts for sale?
MHKflyer52
I don't know of any one with body work for a scratch built 7 but I can tell you that it is very easy to do it yourself once you have the frame built. I can say this because I have made all of the body work on my 7 from scratch as I also built my car from scratch. Here are some photos of that process that you might find interesting. http://picasaweb.google.com/MHKflyer52/ALotus7Replica If you want I will sell you my body work for $17500.00 and you will also get all of the other parts you need for your car along with the body work as my car is still for sale..........:leaving:
locost7018
Kinetic Vehicles (Jack McC) has lots of stuff. Nose, fenders. tail lights, scuttle, etc. Hoods and body panels you have to do out of flat Alum sheets. Russ
fnmag58
I have a used scuttle and firewall if you are interested. Where are you located?
focusinprogress
I am located in western new york (buffalo). If you have pics and if they will fit a mcsorely 7+442 chassis I would be interested in asking price and such
andrew7
Jack at Kinetic is good plus Curtis Unlimited in Cali has fiberglass parts. My nose and fenders are from them but I have been hearing reports of questionable quality. They need prep work not paint and bolt on. I have a +4" frame and had to cut the nose in half. I added 4" with epoxied Aluminum and fiberglass layup the middle. I just seen a 442 uses a standard width nose but calls for a taller height, Curtis has taller noses also. craig chima
Not sure if you're just looking for the aluminum peices, but if not I have a complete set of front and rear Caterham fenders in very, very nice condition that I will be posting for sale sometime in the next few days. They could be used "as is" or would simply need to be scuffed and painted. Craig (330) 807-0742 or chima97@aol.com Akron Oh
randy g
:willy_nilly: I am a metal shaper. I have done a widened 7 nose out of aluminim for a friend of mine. I am about to make a nose for my Birkin. To see my work go to Blastolene.com I can use your widened mock-up as my pattern and will basicly cover with .062 aluminum. JohnCh
Randy, I've admired your work since I first saw pictures of the Blastolene Special several years ago. To call yourself a "metal shaper" is somewhat of an understatement! -John
yellowss7
Ditto!!! Saw the Tank engine car on the BJ Auction. Amazing, Although our west coast friends may not think the 2 mpg was a good thing.:smash: Tom
