First Blat of the year

Recommended Posts

Changed the oil and filter, washed and oiled the ITG foam air filter, set the tire air pressure, and turned the key. Fired right up after sitting since the last drive in the fall. :hurray:

Went for a nice one and a half hour Blat, other than one 68 camaro, not one other nice car out.:cuss: What ever happened to a nice Sunday drive? Weather is perfect 72 degrees, sunny. I just don't get it. Lots of bikes out though and got a wave from most.

Happy to report that all temps and pressures came up nicely, the car felt great. Can't wait to get back out on the track with it. I think I'm going to go out for another hour or so. I just have to be back in time for the Cornell, Wisconson game. My wife's Brother is the Head Coach of Cornell.

Go Big Red!

We would love to join you but we got 7" of snow yesterday, in KC, and we have promptly sent it your way. So get ready for it. Russ

:jester: Just have to rub it in but out here in Southern California the weather has been fine and we only had a couple of days of rain in the beginning of the month. :jester:

Enjoy the nice weather your having as you all deserve it after all that snow you have had this winter in Eastern Pa. and NJ. and MD. and NY. sometimes I wish we had some out here but then I shake my head and check to make sure I am awake and not dreaming. :cooldude:

Congrats on the first blat of the year. I made it to a British Car Show yesterday morning. I decided to drive the Megabusa for the 75 mile trip instead of trailering her. On the way home I got hit with rain off and on 4-5 times. A Nissan Altima spun out about a mile ahead of me and hit a tree. I continued on and the Westfield Aeroscreen deflected 95% of the rain away from me. The only thing to get wet was my helmet. I even used the large red light at the rear of the car for extra caution.

Today I left my male Great Dane out in the living room for a few hours while I caught up on sleep. When I woke up to feed him and his sister I found he had shredded my entire ziploc bag full of Megabusa documents that I keep in the car. Good thing they were only copies! That boy...

This weekend was Jam packed with family and kid stuff. Managed to fire up frankn7, but the battery is pretty weak. Had to push start at the gas station. Still, put a few miles on her, and she feels just like I remember - a shove in the back :D

As a graduate of Cornell, I've got to say Go Big Red!

Yeah, Steve's got a good team this year. We'll see how they do on Thursday in Syracuse. If they shoot 60+ percent from the field and 50+ from the 3pt range like they did against Wisconson, then it will be a game. Go Big Red!

Had it out yesterday for the trip to the local SCCA seasonal event awards 'banquet'/karting event. very nice despite the traffic. Absolutely freezing going over the bridge twice and once the sun went down as i left a sweatshirt at home along with any of the tops. Appears either the coolant temp sensor or gauge is being tempermental. needle never budged but the radiator and heater were generating warmth.

Took the "PRISNR" out a couple Sundays back on the first "spring-like" day we have had. Nice country 2 lane roads. Mt Vernon Rd out of Auburn to Lincoln, CA. and then back up HWY 193 to Newcastle and home. Nice green countryside...in two months it will be "California golden"...read BROWN! Purred like a kitten.

Lots of motorcycles out that day. They invariably gave me the high sign as we passed.

Even got to check the speedo on one of those "complementary" radar trailers our local Sheriff parks along the road to scare folks into jumping on their brakes in panic. Since the speedo is over on the passenger side of the dash, I checked out the tach. With a pleasing exhaust note at 2900 rpm on the trusty Spridget motor I get 55 mph.:driving:

Maybe admissable in court someday???:nopity:
