Spaz
What the ........ This is in my city... I know Auto Europe in Birmingham Michigan was selling the car around 2 years ago. They must have sold it to a big time collector here in town AKA Fox Motorsports

scannon
That's a lot of darkening on the exhaust for only 183 miles. Must have all been at WOT. IIRC, the original seller claimed it had only been up and down his driveway once.

The driver was doing donuts on Monument Circle downtown Indy. On the way to the Speedway he had it hammered from stop light to stoplight even with the police escort. I know because I was in charge of the Public Concourse on the Circle and the escort to the Speedway. We would not let him on IMS for the parade lap around the the Speedway. He could not drive it in normal traffic. Way too high strung to be driven on the street. Jack
Gyrofli
Nice car but every time I look at it I see things that don't look like 80 Grand. For that many low miles, yes the exaust should still look new. It's been abused most probably. Eighty Grand???? It's only worth what someone is willing to pay for it. It might go in the mid to high twenties in my opinion. Gold discoloration is normal on stainless - and it doesn't necessarily mean anything. Besides - I'll doubt you'll find a used seven that wasn't run hard at some point. I find it hard to believe it wouldn't go for at least double what you've estimated. If the car is a solid runner, I don't see why $80k is unreasonable. You would be hard pressed to find a basic Cat with a xflow for mid $20k's. This car already sold once for over $100k (albeit with a custom truck to trailer it) A new R500 which probably has similar performance but without all the custom bespoke work is $75k at least. The cosworth motor alone is probably worth about $25+k. (When this car sold to AutoEurope, they also bought my friends cosworth Elan and his motor was almost $25k). The problem with this car is that it is too nice to use. .
Jim F.
If it is as high-strung as it seems to be (I certainly wouldn't argue that point), the driveline and ancillaries alone probably approach half the asking price. Absolutely a work of art and too nice to be driven "a lot".......belongs in a Jay Leno type's collection.
Bster13
If this is the case, it'd make me refrain from purchasing the car on principal (let alone confidence in the other specs they list about he car). No one likes a liar. That is a bunch of Bull S....That car was at LOG 28 in 2008 in Indy. The driver was doing donuts on Monument Circle downtown Indy. MoPho
Where are they lying? It only says it's been driven 183 miles, which could very well be true since I am sure the car was trailered to the event, says nothing about how it was driven for those 183 miles (or did I miss something?). Other than a questionable break in procedure (which for all we know could have been done on an engine dyno before it was put in the car or not even necessary given the spec) doing donuts or running full throttle isn't all that hard on an 1150lb car. The specs and build are well documented, this car is pretty well known in the community .
Bster13
I guess I was going off of Jack's first sentence that it was BS..implying that it was driven more. But perhaps you are correct, in that it could be trailered everywhere. Who knows... too rich for my blood anyhow. hehe. \ Where are they lying? jimrankin
For 80K it must come with a big can of paste metal polish, a buffer and a lovely young lady to run it. It definately won't go cheap though. Us old guys remember when if you could drive it in traffic, it wasn't fast. If it put out more than a HP per CuIn it was usually a lumper
Mondo
I always find it funny how the more custom/detail that goes into a car the more we seem to nitpik it. Especially if it's more of a show piece than a driver. Somebody takes a clunker and cleans it up and we say "great job!" but when someone goes all out we say "nice except...". I think it's because we assume the owner just pimped it out to some shop and wasn't involved. Or we can't help but comment in the vein of "if I had that much money I'd of done X different". Must be human nature cause I see it on other car/bike sites as well. PS - I've been guilty of it too;)
WestTexasS2K
4000 hours of work at 20.00 per hour comes to 80k that doesn't include parts and pieces. It seems like a good deal if you look at that way. I think Jay Leno should buy it, or maybe I will win the lotto this week and beat him to it.
