Ruadhd2
I was reminded how pretty the Europas were by looking at a bunch of them at LOG30 yesterday. Here's one for sale repainted to John Player Special colors: If my wife would only let me. I"ve maxed on my car limit. gjslutz
I have a friend here in Ohio that purchased his new in 1974, he just put it up for sale. He purchased a new Elise and has a room problem. His wife is against the sale! His name is Ron Schneider @ 330-833-1459
Mondo
Fixed one up back in the 80s. Could never get over having only a quarter inch of fiberglass all around me (center tunnel was the frame).
locost7018
I always thought a Se7en painted JP Special would be nice. Russ
slngsht
I'm sure I'm in the minority, but looks-wise, the Europa never did much for me.
MightyMike
In terms of appearance, my least-favorite Lotus.
BruceBowker
I'm sure I'm in the minority, but looks-wise, the Europa never did much for me. I agree.
Mondo
I considered it a mini Pantera... there weren't many mid-engine cars back in the 70s. It was actually quite comfortable and nice to drive. Reliability, that's another story. If I ever considered another one, it would be from these guys (or their parts) http://www.banks-europa.co.uk/cars_home.htm
gjslutz
I felt the same way about them, but I won't tell Ron as he buys lunch at times!
DeanG
Odd how when I first saw the car I thought of it as a equally beautiful and affordable alternative to the Porsche 917. I still think they are beautiful, not pretty.
xcarguy
I've never been much of a Europa fan, but they are a part of the Lotus world and I can appreciate the car and especially the guys and gals that own and maintain them. From what I've read, Europa ownership is not easy.
Ade
The Europa was not one of my favourite Lotus's either, but recognize them as a true classic now. The Eclat on the other hand........No No No!!! Ade
DeanG
I would love an Eclat with a/c and an automatic. A wonderful GT car that would annoy many F_, J_ & P_ owners on vintage tours.
xcarguy
If Ford and Lotus teamed up, could this be the all new . . . EUFORA??? :grouphug:
