blubarisax
Up for sale is a set of new Caterham 13" wheels and Avon ZZR tires. I got them a few months ago directly from Caterham UK but have decided to go with a different setup. So these need to go. They are located in Northern New Jersey and while a local pickup would be easiest, I can arrange to ship them. They are all mounted and balanced and include the center caps. Here is what I have: Avon ZZR Tires 2-185/55/13 and 2 205/55/13 Caterham Wheels 2 6x13 and 2 8x13 The list price for the set from Caterham is 854 GBP or $1,353. Plus you would have to pay $3-400 for shipping. I'll let them go for a cool $995, plus shipping. I am going with a set of slicks for the track with wider wheels so I can keep up with Mike and Ron in thier new cars. blubarisax
I'll weigh them mounted just for fun, but they just sold. They have a new home in Seattle and should be great fun in the rain!

blubarisax
I'm just glad I don't have to explain to my wife why I needed two sets of track tires. One set was hard enough to justify. I am going with a set of Michelin slicks with Rial wheels (8x13 Front and 9.5x13 Rear). I need to put on 8" wings for the front, but the rears are supposed to fit, although quite closely. We'll see... Kitcat
Very curious abt weight of wheel/tire combo, front/and larger rear-purely in the interest of science. Glad they found a good home. Your car on slicks shd be a track terror. I am working on some James Bond-worthy devices to add to my car to offset the advantages you, and others, have (Hmmm, I wonder where those tacks could have come from, etc?). JohnCh
I weighed the 13x6 version at 10.5 lb. I’ve been told that the 8” version is 1.5 lb heavier. -John
Kitcat
Interesting: My stock 14x6 Miata R package wheels were 10.8 lbs.
supersportsp
Interesting: My stock 14x6 Miata R package wheels were 10.8 lbs. Those Miata wheels are known as being incredibly light. Probably some of the lightest, if not the lightest stock wheels offered ever. Other the some Rial's or Compomotive's, I am not sure there is much available sub 10 lbs. yellowss7
That's only if you use your brakes Karl. You just go really really fast and then turn. :leaving: Tom
supersportsp
What size tires are you running? Those look like about 40 to 45 series rubber.
yellowss7
In that picture Avon CR 500s. Fronts 175 55 13 rears 205-55 13. I switched over to Toyo R888s last year and I think those are 205-60-13 in the rear. The Toyo's are alot heavier than the Avon's. I'll probably switch back to the Avon CR 500's for the next set.
