DeanG Posted March 9, 2011 Share Posted March 9, 2011 Thanks for posting. I love seeing pictures of a 7 being put to use. There are some serious suspension changes in the first and last pictures. The outside front tire may be rubbing a little bit in the last picture. Some dust being kicked up in the second picture. A great aspect of the LOG 30 auto-x was that it was close to the hotel so many people came out to watch. People who drove hard, or screwed up in a spectacular fashion, received applause. bball7754 Posted March 9, 2011 Share Posted March 9, 2011 Mike - After the third trackday where someone came in and told me how much they enjoyed following me and watching my inside front wheel come off the pavement, I decided I needed to change the suspension setup. I went up on the diameter of my front anti-roll bar, and added a rear bar. Since then, no one has said I'm cornering on 3 wheels. I think our vintage Caterham have extremely soft springs - maybe 150 lbs in the front? I think 200-225 is the "normal" front spring rates for street/track use. Kitcat Posted March 9, 2011 Share Posted March 9, 2011 Thx Steve. I have had lots of people on my rear bumper (Sadly!), but no one has noticed a wheel lift. But I do spin the inside wheel a bit on "Dead Bear" curve at Putnam (motor rev's up). So I am putting some sky there under that wheel. Seems to help the car rotate and its only for a 1/2 second. IF I had more power it wld be more of an issue. I like the comfort the soft suspension provides and since 95% of my miles are street miles, I will probly keep it as is. I like your solution.
