My Cat has sprung a heater hose leak that has grounded me. Its one of the two, short, angled hoses the enter the heater box. Since my car is 14 years old, maybe 10 years wld be a safe time to routinely replace these? I have patched it and it's semi-functional but I wont be taking any long trips til replacement hoses are found.

Mike, Caterham UK has them in stock, as I recently oreded them. Shipping is the downside. Maybe you can order them through Cat USA and hopefully save a bit on the shippping.

if u have a good autoparts store, the ones w/ teh back storeroom that bigger than the rest of teh store, u can usually find something of the shape u need to be cut down to the length u need.

I just replaced both of my heater hoses last fall as they had become cracked. They aren't cheap, but Ben actually had some in stock in Denver. $70 was the damage for both I think.

just a heads up I'm in the pocess of ordering top and bottom radiator hoses from Caterham USA (Jon indicated that he has them in stock). My car is ~13 years old and I doubt that they have been replaced. I just noticed that the bottom hose had started to crack around the water pump mount. I figured a little bit of preventative maintenance was better than being stranded.

Mine lasted all of 5 years before being replaced in early 2009. Consider yourselves lucky to get over 10 years life out of them.

Have you checked the fuel and cooling hoses? These are prime candidates for cracks, splitting and failing... I replaced all my hoses at the same time as they all seemed to be in the same worn condition.

All the mentioned hoses have been replaced- after they failed:). Only hoses left were the heater hoses, wh/have now failed. And the oil cooler hoses. I will quit tempting fate and replace them now as well.
