11Budlite Posted April 29, 2011 Posted April 29, 2011 Bet this would be fun! http://ccrscca.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=tt&action=display&thread=4495&page=1
Boxologist Posted May 1, 2011 Posted May 1, 2011 this is very tempting to go down to NC to volunteer for.
Croc Posted May 2, 2011 Posted May 2, 2011 this is very tempting to go down to NC to volunteer for. And run it competitively? Or just fish people and their cars out of the greenery?
Boxologist Posted May 2, 2011 Posted May 2, 2011 TT1 rules require far greater safety equipment that my 7 has. basically full race prep w/ cages. I would work or whatever else they need done. I hope this event does really well.
hr-k Posted June 16, 2011 Posted June 16, 2011 The event was great! I attended my first hillclimb with Locost 7. The scenery, arrangements, support from locals, new people, all were great. I will for sure return. The course was 2.2 mile and quite rough. The surface was grainy and there were lots of bumps and washboard, couple tightening corners and very intimidating in general, being two lane mountain road with rocks, trees and armco. The event was two days and I got 13 timed runs, some people got more, depending how early one went to queue in. Photos and videos can be seen: http://ccrscca.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=tt&action=display&thread=4593 I ended up with class win (SPO) and third overall, behind GT3 Porsche and Formula continental. Probably the most fun weekend I have had with cars. HRK
Kitcat Posted June 16, 2011 Posted June 16, 2011 I can feel the adrenaline rush from here:). Props for the 3rd place, looks like some v. serious competition.
BruceBowker Posted June 16, 2011 Posted June 16, 2011 (edited) Does one need any special license etc to race in these? Edited June 18, 2011 by BruceBowker
hr-k Posted June 23, 2011 Posted June 23, 2011 Bruce, Yes you need to have SCCA Time Trial license, class 4. You can run with Competition license and in this event they honored NASA competition or Time trial licenses. Awesome video footage can be found here: #68-Blue Volvo on Vimeo You can select cars from the list on the right. Seven is still on the works as of today. We did a promotional video with my seven and couple of chase cars for SCCA to use promoting these climbs. Had a bit too much fun on that... hr-k
