I just picked up a hot cam and some other goodies, valve springs, push rods, road race dif, axles, seats, mirrors, fron cycle wing mounts and some bed liner on the leading edge of rear fenders. Oh, and some more rustoleum enamel on the chipped areas. Hope to get the girl back on the road in 1-2 weeks, esp now with the weather. It's a Texas Speed 231/236 cam. With tune it should be good for 60-80 Bph increase. One of the guys on the camaro net has one and reports the power delivery just as smooth as stock (none of the variable valve timing mess or huge bump at 4k) so "should" be just as easy to drive, less the low rev loading on trailer and parking lot. Bonjo2 Posted May 23, 2013 Author Share Posted May 23, 2013 (edited) It made 419 bph and 405 ft lbs. So roughly 475-490 flywheel. Yes. I cut the hood. The nose had to be raised a little, but hood still hits the front of the intake manifold. Once I take the manifold sound insulation cover off, it should fit better. I like being able to simply pull the hood and leave the nose alone. Also, when front splitter installed, there's no way to open a one-piece. Bonjo2 Posted July 1, 2013 Author Share Posted July 1, 2013 Latest. Rear diffuser and decklid really helped the tornado and drag effect at 100. much more stable. Not sure about downforce given my strakes are a bit too high. Pusher fan, nose vent and lots of insulation added to help with hot feet. So far so good. New front brake pads and steering rack bushings really helped build confidence. Car is now more than nuts. 0-60 in the 2.2 range and 100 in about 5.5 (old gtech) though now with 2K miles, my rear drag radials need to be replaced.
