mikeymeeg
I purchased my Caterham in 2005 from the original builder and she now has 6,110 miles on her. The color is BMW grey with a silver nose ring and bonnet strip. There are a couple of paint chips here and there yet, for the most part, the car is in excellent condition and is currently located in Sarasota, Florida. Originally built in 2003, this Caterham was pretty well loaded with many of the options available at the time. Over the years I have added a few things too but have all of the original gear that could be put back on the car if desired. Motor: 202 bhp Seven America Zetec Supersport package with TWM one-piece throttle body fuel injection manifold, Pectel fully PC programmable direct fire ignition/F.I. control unit and high performance street cams. This car has a standard 5-speed gearbox The car’s current specs are as follows: Widetrack front Suspension | Limited slip differential | Watts link rear suspension | Heater | Leather Seats | Leather Transmission Tunnel Cover | Carbon Dash | Carbon rear wing protectors | Carbon sill protectors | Custom side-out exhaust | Momo Steering wheel and quick release column | Willians 4-point harness (Drivers Side) | Cloth Dust Cover | Side Screens | Side Skirts | Roof etc. | Pectel PC software and patch cable to access ECU | Chrome gas cap. Other Items I have which are not currently fitted to the car: Original Caterham rear-out exhaust | FIA roll Bar with installation kit| Blank Front Grill | Tonneau Cover with installation kit | Original Moto-Lita Steering Wheel and column | A few specific tools, installation and build manuals plus all documentation. Asking: $33,000 Email me at mike at actionquest dot com for more details and/or photos http://www.extras.actionquest.com/caterham_listing_pics/Front-Left.jpg http://www.extras.actionquest.com/caterham_listing_pics/Front.jpg http://www.extras.actionquest.com/caterham_listing_pics/Engine-Bay.jpg http://www.extras.actionquest.com/caterham_listing_pics/Interior.jpg Edited September 3, 2011 by mikeymeeg Fixing formatting errors

supersportsp
Wish this had been on the market a couple of years ago when I bought my car. This seems like a great deal for a nice package.
mikeymeeg
In discussion with a club member, it was pointed out to me that the chassis is actually a 2002 rather than a 2003 as stated in my initial post. I had always held it as a 2003 as the original invoice, as well as the Manufacturers Statement of Origin, has a 2003 date on it! Didn't want anyone to think that I am trying to pull the wool over their eyes! Experienced Cat owners, I would be appreciative of a few observations/comments about the car relative to the initial asking price, either here on the forum or to my email mike at actionquest dot com. I figured that $33,000 was a reasonable place to start but would welcome comments from others with more experience than I.
athens7
With the economy the way it is, who knows about the value of any discretionary toy! IMHO, your price is very fair for a Zetec car with low miles and a quite respectable specification. Good luck with the sale!

mikeymeeg
Just back in the country and spent the day detailing the car yesterday. Took so more "detailed" pictures of the detail below... http://extras.actionquest.com/caterham_listing_pics/IMG_0237.jpg http://extras.actionquest.com/caterham_listing_pics/IMG_0239.jpg http://extras.actionquest.com/caterham_listing_pics/IMG_0240.jpg http://extras.actionquest.com/caterham_listing_pics/IMG_0241.jpg

MichaelD
Nice car. Does it run rich? Having an older chassis is not unusual. Mine has a 98 chassis number but was not assembeled, invoiced and shipped to the US until 2000 as the first Zetec Seven America.
mikeymeeg
Hi Michael, No it doesn't run particularly rich. With the Pectel software you can change the mapping on the fly if you want to but I have not played with it that much. re. chassis year, yes, mine was ordered in 2002 I guess but not delivered, built or registered until 2003. I am not sure that Carteham made any significant updates between those two model years!
Kitcat
Just making a plug for this car, which I think is one of the nicest Zetec Caterhams to ever come up for sale on this site, and at an excellent price. Stuff that I really like: 202 hp, LSD, carbon, carbon, carbon, wide track, FIA roll-over bar, full weather kit/heater, perfect condition. Stuff I dont like: It wasn't for sale when I bought my Birkin:).
MichaelD
Specs like my car, minus a some HP from the Quicksilver engine mod; a custom, full removable, roll cage, race shocks and springs, Quaife LSD and clam shells. Oh yeah, mine does not have the "extra" heaterfile:///C:/Users/Michael/AppData/Local/Temp/moz-screenshot-1.png. :-) Posted For Sale at: http://www.topdocsracing.com/home/photos-2file:///C:/Users/Michael/AppData/Local/Temp/moz-screenshot.png

mikeymeeg
Not sure if I understand the question Terry? Can you re-post? My Caterham has a 2002 chassis # but was delivered, built and registered in 2003. Is that what you were looking for?
MichaelD
Terry, If you were asking about my car, it is the first factory Caterham Zetec in the US. The 1998 chassis was modified by Caterham in England to fit the Zetec and then shipped to Frank Bolton in Atlanta in 2000. Frank was the US Caterham distributor at the time. When Frank sold the distributorship to Jon Nelson he sold the car to George Alderman of Mid-Atlantic Cateham. George then sold it to me. I replaced the stock Zetec engine with a New ZX3 motor from Ford Racing and had Mid Atlantic Caterham make the initial upgrade of cams and throttle bodies. The final and current tune and cams and all subsequent engine maintenance has be performed by Quicksilver in Frederick, MD. The NEW QuickSilver motor dynoed at 216HP on pump gas as of June 18, 2011. It is registered in Maryland as assembled vehicle and has a lifetime Maryland emissons inspection waiver.
