wemtd
A quick search here hasn't turned up much information. Does anyone have RECENT experience shipping their se7ens? (closed carrier, etc..)? Others report good experience with passport but i expect there are other acceptable options. I'm old fashioned and like referrals, especially considering the plethora of companies out there. Thanks Edited November 6, 2011 by wemtd
blubarisax
I had good luck with Straight Roads. It's a small company and was recommended to me by Ben at Caterham USA. Ask for Gary. http://www.scottsdalecorvettes.com/Straightraods/straight_roads.htm
Croc
I can second Gary at Straight Roads. I used him in April to get the car from Denver to NYC. The only catch to be aware of is that he is a small operation - only 3 trucks. So you may have to wait depending on direction being shipped. fastg
I have used James Randolph at http://www.crossovertransport.com . Very helpful and efficient. I have used them twice. once to get a vehicle from Ohio and the other Florida. They were actually recommended to me by the original owner of my 7. rss
I had a good experience with Demoise Trucking about a year and a half ago. Small family operation, all enclosed and they only move cars. http://www.demoise.com/

Silk
I've used Horseless Carriage several times and been very pleased with them. http://www.horselesscarriage.com/enclosed-auto-transport/
manik
I've used a number of shipping companies, and without promoting one company over another, I will just say you ABSOLUTELY get what you pay for when shipping a car. Do not use a broker, but go directly to the shipper. Ship only enclosed, and only with a company that has a DOT number. Horseless Carriage and Thomas Sunday are always good options. Pretty much anyone that ships at the various auctions (Barrett Jackson, etc.) is probably a good choice. tm
mca
I'm also looking for shipping options from the Philadelphia area to the Los Angeles area. I've contacted the companies listed here (by email and phone) but have heard back from only 1. The only quote I have so far is $1750 for delivery from Philadelphia to Los Angeles by enclosed carrier. How does this compare? Thanks, Aaron
wemtd
I've requested quotes online from several carriers. This has resulted in a deluge of offeres. These have generally been ~ 6-700 open carrier, and ~ 1100 closed. This is also for a KY -> NH move.
mca
I just received more quotes this morning. Philadelphia to Los Angeles: $1080 open (only 1 company provided an open carrier quote) $1550-2235 enclosed

Philadelphia to Los Angeles: $1080 open (only 1 company provided an open carrier quote) $1550-2235 enclosed Make sure you use an enclosed carrier so your car stays out of the weather and it keeps lookers from messing with it when the truck is stopped and as someone else has said make sure they have a current DOT number. My close friend that restores cars uses this company and has never had a problem with them. http://www.intercitylines.com/
