xflow7
Some of you may remember from some thread or other that I have been unemployed for the most of the year so far. Well, today I'm off to my first day at Lockheed Martin. Keen observers will note the change in my location from Ann Arbor to Binghamton, NY. The move is in progress, although I'm going to be holed up in an extended-stay suite for a few weeks and thus am Seven-less. :banghead: And an extra :banghead: for the fact that the weather here has been so nice the last couple of days. Anyhow, just wanted to close the loop and also thank those of you who had expressed concern/interest in my situation. Wish me luck! Dave
slngsht
:hurray: on the job. :nonod: on the seven. Glad you've landed the means to support the hobby

11Budlite
Good luck in your new job, Dave! If I remember correctly, Binghamton is not too far from Watkins Glen. I was lucky enough to do a 2-day PCA DE event at the Glen and had a blast!! Lime Rock Park should not be too far away, either. Hope to run into you at one of the local events once I get my Birkin back together... Have fun, Bruce
xflow7
Thanks for the thoughts, fellas. :grouphug: I think the job is going to be interesting, and I think I'm going to like the guy I'm working for. Watkins Glen is indeed close (~1.5 hours) and Lime Rock is not too far (~3-3.5 I think). In fact, first thing I did when I accepted the job was to see when there would be some races to go see. Of course, the two I'd most like to see (IRL at the Glen and ALMS at Lime Rock) are both July 7th which is the same weekend a buddy's getting married in LA. but big  :hurray: for my buddy who landed a keeper. And anyway, if he weren't I'd already be signed up for TOTD :jester: I also considered the Grand-Am race at the Glen but that's the weekend of the bachelor party. Anywhom, once my Seven gets here I'll be up for any kind of local gathering and there will almost certainly be autocrosses and/or trackdays in my future. Al N.
we may have to schedule a NEPa blat so we all can meet up. Lime rock over Labor Day is a good site...as is the Watkins Glen Historic. And once I recover from TotD (give me a month or two!), I would be up for hosting a meet at my house...we have enough field space for a few dozen cars here in rural NJ. xflow7
I was definitely thinking of hitting the Vintage Grand Prix at the Glen and the Vintage weekend at Lime Rock. Can't make the summer historics at the Glen, though. (USGP weekend). A NEPa blat sounds like fun.
11Budlite
I'm hoping to get my car done for the TotD, but I'll definitely be up for some race weekends at LRP and the Glen. A NEPa blat sounds like fun, too!!
