yellowss7
Well, I certainly got my money's worth from this one.:svengo::ack: I bought this set this time last year for the 7's at NJMP outing and have been watching them for wear. Obviously I didnot check them between the last two sessions I did. A mistake I won't make again. Seeing this scared the crap out of me.
Boxologist
I'm proud of you Tom. You thought you would never cord a tire on the 7.

yellowss7
Good news is that I picked up a new set today, so I'm ready for this year's 7's gathering at NJMP on Monday.

yellowss7
I figured I could probably get one more day out of the other 3, and if I used a little Barge cement, I could probably get the corded one to last a couple sessions.:jester: Tom
Croc
I would think the spray on rubber in an aerosol can you see advertised on TV by some guy in a little boat with a screen door in the floor saying "no leaks!" would be what you need. Should last all of 3 laps (at your speed) before flaking off. :dupe: Seriously, it is a good lesson on checking your car thoroughly before and during track sessions. Who would have thought Tom could wear out a set of tires trying in vain to keep up with me? Thats more shocking than the tire damage!:willy_nilly:
Kitcat
Tom: Do you heat cycle your slicks (Get up to working temp, keep then there 5-10', then store 24 hours and let cure)? New ones are Hoosiers, what were previous ones?
yellowss7
No Mike, I did not do that last time intentionally. If you remember, I ran them a couple sessions and then had a puncture on track so took them off and ran the R888's at Tbolt the next day. I may do as you suggest on Saturday. Run them a session and then change over to the R888s for the day and then put them back on for Sun, Mon and Tuesday. I'll have to give Croc a little taste of being out front until I put the slicks back on. :boxing: Tom
