Croc Posted August 26, 2012 Posted August 26, 2012 Found on Craigslist - I have no affiliation or connection with the seller - just reposting as a help to other forum members http://monterey.craigslist.org/cto/3190342940.html asking $25000
Hettric Posted August 26, 2012 Posted August 26, 2012 I was looking at this ad/car, found it had been discussed on this site when it sold on eBay last fall and found this link which provides info/details on the car the current owner could not. http://1967lotus7forsale.com/details.html
sdaddy Posted August 26, 2012 Posted August 26, 2012 Found on Craigslist - I have no affiliation or connection with the seller - just reposting as a help to other forum members http://monterey.craigslist.org/cto/3190342940.html asking $25000 The car looks the same as the one posted at http://1967lotus7forsale.com/index.html and has been on several Bay Area Craigslist boards over the last month or so...
Kitcat Posted August 27, 2012 Posted August 27, 2012 Is it a Lotus or a Caterham? If a Lotus, the price is probably right. It does have a Lotus mfg plate, not Caterham, per the engine bay pix. The X-flow doesn't look like an X-flow, tho I am obviously no expert.
Martin Posted August 27, 2012 Posted August 27, 2012 So if the assumption is that it is too high, then where do you all guess it should be? Any idea of what it was advertised at last time?
rikker Posted August 28, 2012 Posted August 28, 2012 So Kit Kat, I guess you wont be calling Tony V on this one then.(But maybe on the "great-deal" car) And what is with this great deal-bad deal statements, there are forum rules posted regarding ripping comments with cars posted for sale; not only do you make these comments but then you go on to state " I am no expert"!
Kitcat Posted August 28, 2012 Posted August 28, 2012 (edited) Rik: The forum rules prohibit bad-mouthing, or critiquing, cars for sale on this forum, not cars for sale anywhere in the world. Edited August 28, 2012 by Kitcat
rikker Posted August 28, 2012 Posted August 28, 2012 (edited) ... "If you don't like the price being asked, or see something wrong with the listing, take it to PM." Rik: "The forum rules prohibit bad-mouthing, or critiquing, cars for sale on this forum, not cars for sale anywhere in the world." The title says it all I think. So let me get this straight, only a paid member can post a car for sale in the "For Sale" section, and then the car and its seller gets treated with kid gloves, receiving only positive reviews and remarks? But, if any paid member scours the internet, and finds a car that he thinks of interest for sale, he can post that link, (and that becomes an ad in it's own right), without the sellers permission by the way, and that anyone in this forum can now say whatever they feel about that car. I think it is fair to say that when any car has been listed in the "For Sale" section, by anyone that, seller should be afforded the same common courtesies as any paid-up member , if not more really, as maybe they did not want their car listed in a discussion forum.
