super7guy Posted September 5, 2012 Posted September 5, 2012 Did anyone else notice the results of the Nationals? Out of 23 entries, all but 4 (Elans) were se7ens. Good Show
joshesh Posted September 6, 2012 Posted September 6, 2012 And the sevens took 1-2! Btw, I attended and drove a STU Evo to 2nd place... My best showing so far at nats!

Kitcat Posted September 7, 2012 Posted September 7, 2012 Josesh. Congratulations on a remarkable achievement! The level of competition at Nats is amazing. I once came in second in a local auto-x and still have the trophy:).
super7guy Posted September 7, 2012 Author Posted September 7, 2012 Jeff Cashmoew Peter Raymond Elan of Mark Huffman Did nor see any Stakers in E mod; there was Westfield. Trying to get SCCA to have class where all se7ens (and other liteweights) can run together is like pushing you know what!
BruceBowker Posted September 16, 2012 Posted September 16, 2012 Is there a novice category in autocross and if so, does one need a special driving license? Bruce
yellowss7 Posted September 16, 2012 Posted September 16, 2012 Bruce, I know the Philly region has a NOVICE class, in which you complete for trophies against other novices. Each car has a Handicap called a PAX which is mutliplied against your raw time, there by somewhat equalizing the cars. Bad news for us 7 owners is that our PAX is set by the best drivers and really penalizes the DMod category that we run in. No special licence is required, but I would Strongly recommed taking an instructor with you as often as you can to help you. Tom
BruceBowker Posted September 16, 2012 Posted September 16, 2012 Tom - thanks. I did what was called then a gymkanna in the parking lot of the shopping mall at King Of Prussia in 1964 and always wanted to try it again.
Boxologist Posted September 17, 2012 Posted September 17, 2012 Sounds like a Saturday AutoX at the Meadowlands next season and a Sunday NJ/Pa drive next spring.
ayseven Posted February 10, 2013 Posted February 10, 2013 It is definitely a lot of fun doing autocross, but some guys are VERY good, and if you don't have super duper tires, you are going to be slower. You are in the same class as cars set up specifically for the task at hand. I've never had a bad day doing it though, no matter what I've driven! The key is to concentrate during the course walks... I have trouble with that bit, because my attention span is about as long as your average run in the car.
