Bruce K Posted November 13, 2012 Posted November 13, 2012 Here's the link. Price at time of this post was $6,767 (reserve not met). Located in Washington state. Done up nicely in BRG with Lotus yellow nose. Maybe a 2009 build. Built with a new s2000 motor and trans: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Lotus-Other-WCM-Ultralite-S2K-Lotus-Seven-7-replica-by-World-Class-Motorsports-Ultralite-S2K-/261126906587?pt=US_Cars_Trucks&hash=item3ccc6062db#v4-41
WestTexasS2K Posted November 13, 2012 Posted November 13, 2012 That is a 2.2L motor. It looks like a nice clean car. It bet the reserve is mid to high 20s.
Mondo Posted November 15, 2012 Posted November 15, 2012 Looks nice, that bar is unusual, going between the seats from dash to rear bulkhead. Wish I chose a carbon dash over my machined metal (the glare is blinding).
rikker Posted November 15, 2012 Posted November 15, 2012 Do you think the horizontal bar would catch on arms/shoulders?
WestTexasS2K Posted November 15, 2012 Posted November 15, 2012 I hadn't seen a bar like that one. I would think the passenger side would be more cramped.
Bruce K Posted November 15, 2012 Author Posted November 15, 2012 I hadn't seen a bar like that one. I would think the passenger side would be more cramped. Hard to tell from pix alone, but looks like that bar might be a knuckle basher when shifting, especially when the driver is distracted with other functions, like changing a lane, executing a pass and so on. Perhaps the idea was to impede a cockpit collapse in event of a longitudinal collision. Anyway, the car is well detailed and very clean, and has a torquier 2.2 motor (per Lorren).
RGTorque Posted November 19, 2012 Posted November 19, 2012 wow... sold for 22k. thats a steal. hope it makes it way eastward!

Bruce K Posted November 19, 2012 Author Posted November 19, 2012 wow... sold for 22k. thats a steal. hope it makes it way eastward! You're right - a steal in respect to fair value for ultimate sportscar performance. But most folks nowadays are reduced to minimum everything, and that includes transportation. Most can't afford a car that seats only two, can barely hold a gallon of milk, let alone bags of groceries, can't be driven in snow and barely in rain, destroys the most expensive female coifs in 3 seconds flat, and so on. In the obamconomy, the potential purchaser group for sevens is small, and getting smaller. Sevens are the ultimate middle-class sporter, providing supercar performance at Joe Sixpack prices. Unfortunately, these days, Joe Sixpack is reduced to buying sports cars that look suspiciously like Corollas with quart-sized tailpipes. Let's call him: Joe GIQ.

speedwagon Posted November 20, 2012 Posted November 20, 2012 Not a steal, but a fairly good price in today's market. The prices of new autos are grossly overinflated and partly to blame is the auto bail out. I bought 2 years ago at a bargain price fully understanding that the market was going south, but at my age my life is going south at a faster rate and the car represented a windfall from stock trading. I am willing to bet that "name brand" sevens will see the low teens before we are done, tight market and some new players being offered. Take a ride in a well sorted LS swapped Miata or RX-7 FD to start the list. The days of buying and loosing half your 'investment' are here again.

And sorry to hear about your health - here's prayers for a better New Year.
