You are correct. HP=High Performance Engine=150 HP. 1700 HP will be too much to handle :).

 

Ah, but think of the power to weight ratio. That would be about 1.4 HP per pound (instead of pounds per HP). As I like to say, too much horsepower is just about right. :jester:

The owner has taken this car off the market for the time being.

I wonder how many (any?) newer Caterhams than this were equipped with this engine? In other words, is it the last Kent engined Caterham to come off the assembly line, so to speak? If so, that mite add some value?

Could be, or close.

FWIW, Caterham told me they sold me the last cross-flow chassis back in 2002, but then again, they told me a few things that turned out to be ....optimistic lets say. LOL
