If it were me then I would think you should be ok - as long as you can see cars clearly coming up behind you? Do the 2 side mirrors give that level of visibility? A center mirror many times has blocked view because of the roll bars, head rests, drivers, etc. The Caterham S3's always seem to have this observation.

With the windshield on, my center mirror is mounted at the top of it and it does provide good rearward vision however with the windshield removed I don't know if a mirror mounted lower will give that kind of visibility. The side mirrors do provide sufficient rear visibility. I just don't want to be told I can't run without an inside mirror. I think I will try and pick up a mirror that I can mount on my GoPro suction mount just in case it is required. Althought the only reference I have seen to the center mirror is the item on the inspection checkoff list.

Dave, I use the Spa center mirror and my visibility issue is that the standard heigh mirror blocks my view of the right front of the car. I belive Jeff also had the same issue. I bought a length of threaded rod which I used to increase the height, and using a threaded coupling nut to join them together. It has the added benefit of improving the rear vision as well.

I have a spare 5" center dash mount if that would be helpful. The Spa center mirrors are nice, but a bit expensive. Pegasus has one in stock and ships fast.

I do like the idea of a suction mount in your case though. Pegasus has them too.

Good luck!

As an aside, my replacement front fender was just released from NYC Customs so I should not have to drive in shame.

Good news Karl.

I'm painting a set of clams that I got from George Alderman off his SCCA caterham racer. They are supposedly more aerodynamic. I figure they will give me 15-20 more MPH on the top end. :smilielol5::smilielol5::smilielol5:

I will probably be fitting them at the track on Friday as well.

See you in the paddock.

Locked and loaded, car, SUV, trailer, all is set. Discovered huge alighnment issue w/

driver side rear: my basically new tire is corded on inside, so I will be running on rain tires, shd be interesting.

How about ordering pizza delivered to the garage area Friday night. Or will we need to park our cars over on Lightening?

Michael, I'm guessing we will park the trailers and cars over at Lightning as there is a tech session from 7 to 8 I think.

The clubhouse is open so we can have drinks and dinner without going off the track.

I plan to get there by 3 or so and we will probably set up the tent and coolers for some drinks and appetizers while everyone arrives. I figure we socialize then tech then eat. Does that sound like a plan?

Sounds like a plan to me. Tech ends at 8:30. I will be there 6;30-8:30 , depending on traffic. I leave Fredrick, MD @ 3:30-ish after a grandson visit.I asked my son if my GS , who is 14 months , cld say Caterham yet and he said yes, tho it sounded a lot like dee-dee. Close enuf! What a prodigy:)!

My favorite parts are your shifts-what a system! Not only fast, but you always get the right gear. And it looks to me like you are abt 20 mph faster thru the bowl, than last year.

Speaking of me, for those not familiar with Lightning, here is a link to a video that shows what NOT to do.

Mike you just had to go and do it. Now that I know what line not to take, I am doomed :banghead: to follow it just like you in the video, over and over and over :deadhorse:!

That line through the left hander looks very well worn. Almost like there is a rut that takes you off road. I might have to increase my ground clearance to handle the off roading like you.

Maybe if I watch Karl's video enough times, I will forget about what NOT to do.

I'll have to try and leave Dick home too. Like you say, he always seems to get me in trouble too.

Karl, I lust after the way your car gets up there. You are 10 miles an hour faster than me down the straights. I think I can show you where to get a lot more speed thru 2,3,4 5 and the light bulb. This should be a fun weekend.
